*** The Official 'How do you stop Emirates Marketing Project?!?!' OMT ***

Dawson was at least a yard onside by the shots Bt were showing, why is this being debated, did they doctor the pictures or something?

Was there much difference between today and AVB's last game vs Liverpool?

Not really, very similar to be honest.

Problem was, as well as playing poorly up to the point 1 of our players got sent off we were also behind in the game and trying to get back into it. Against teams with average/good players you might have a chance, against teams with World class/very good players you don't really...

The fact is that City started really well and we struggled to put passes together in the opening 15 minutes. It was pretty gruesome at times.
But looking ahead, if we can keep our excellent away form, and start getting some wins at home, the season is NOT over for us. A 3 way fight with Pool and Manure for 4th, it could go any way.

Probably one of the weirdest seasons I've ever experienced as a Spurs fan. I want to say we're **** but then we still have a lot of points. How the **** do we keep getting spanked so bad. We really do lack leadership. We look like a young team with little experience

If in a years time, TS is still making those errors and we get beat by such scorelines, but its been around 6-8 weeks. So I would suggest lets give this a rest as its a bit dry really. Im sure some on here who keep spouting the same **** should also realise how boring they sound. Im sure such people are even fed up of spouting the same crap day in... day out...

Football basics: you are up against a free-scoring side near the top of the league, you give yourself a CHANCE by playing a player who is a specialist defensive midfielder who knows about tracking runners. Why throw the willing but INEXPERIENCED Bentaleb to the Wolves??
We saw what happened vs a strolling Arsenal, seemingly learn from it against (lowly) Swansea and then still leave the CB exposed??

Basics FFS

I really thought we could change it up until the penalty, sending off and 2-0. We finished the first half and started the second really strong.

We were second best though, against the best team in the league - a team that will go up against Barca and feel that they can make it a close game. No shame in that. This was not the game where it was all decided, it's the next one...

Onwards and upwards, a lot of average-ish performances at best today. But it's not about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward... On Saturday we will have our chance to keep moving forward...

we certainly lack characters to bang some heads together

I've felt this all season. We need an experienced player to come in who everyone (team mates and opponents) would immediately respect. Some with presence and a natural leader. What we could do with someone like Davids before the window closed.

Capoue is a **** passer, Bentaleb is a better passer. The onus was on passing. I guarantee that if Sandro was fit, he would have been playing, hell even Paulinho would have been playing.

Today our passing was poor, the players should be held accountable just as much as the Manager/Coach.

Didnt we have a defensive midfielder at the Etihad? what happened there. It is not as simple as saying 'lets put a DM on' because the issues are still inherently present.

Agree with all of that, would have been nice to make it close at least but that was taken out of our hands by the Lino and ref. hull away I where we get our points and continue from there.

I thought it was decent spirit today, so much better than Liverpool game for example. City are so much better than anyone else it's crazy.

Shouldn't you watch the game before you start commenting on where we went wrong and what the team selection should have been?

If i was not married and straight i would hunt you down..

Right, was at the pub watching the game and am reallllly ****ed off. HOW!?! how does he get 2 decisions so badly wrong. Don't get me wrong i wasn't expecting anything but a loss tonight, we were **** for the first 20 mins but towards the end of the 1st half we started to come back into it. Against the top teams those decisions change games and we were ****ed by that idiot linesman tonight.

On a more rational level tonight showed how far we are behind the top teams. First 20 minutes we were awful. I said to my Man U supporting mate it doesn't say much when we've spent £100 million and only 2 of our summer signings started the game. Pretty dire actually. We have a long way to go. Im still confident we will be challenging for top four but i don't think we'll manage it :(

yeah......and a 100 mill spent on 7 players.....6 of em flops?

or not making much headway?

We could have spent that on just 2 or 3 players instead, but we'd be ****ed if one or more got injured or didn't work out. Unlike Chelsea and City we can't just go out and buy more. We've invested in potential and it could take a while before that is fully realised.

Milo, GD and Notmegov: Cheers!

At the risk of making this the circlejerk Notmegov apparently craves (;)) it's always a pleasure to have the chance to share Spurs-feeling with you and everyone here. I'm a tad drunk (or a dad trunk), but onwards and upwards together!

One setback will always be just one setback...

Not watching Sky/BT but has a player or Tim done post match interview yet?

said it wasn't a pen and thought Dawson goal was given offside because ade touched it, but neither really mattered because we couldn't get going and City were better from the start. Also said he felt City are third best team in Europe
