*** The official 2025/26 Premier League thread ***

The thing I am clinging to is that DeZerbi has us playing better and better, whereas West Ham are playing as well as they can (this is their peak).
I expect DeZerbi to force a win at Wolves, and similarly at Villa. I think he has affected the vibe and mood significantly, and the way he spoke post-match on Saturday was great.
But boy, the margins are too fine for comfort...

I do think you’re right, West Ham seemed to have their push a while back, they found form and that was what got them back into contention for staying up. We haven’t had that push yet and you do feel that if we can get a win, it may prompt 2 or even 3. West Ham feel like they are maybe levelling out a little again now, still dangerous as who know if the final games get them going again. However I’m hopeful that our turn around could still come at just the right time 🤞

What West Ham showed tonight was defensive resilience. You're in the game if you don't concede. Unfortunately we usually have to outscore our opponents by at least 2 goals to win. That's unfortunately why I think we are still favourites to go down out of the Wham Forest and us. 😔
I know refs have been screwing us over but even they can't change it that we have to outscore our opponents by two goals, one is still enough.

Agree. But logically speaking we should finish ahead of West Ham:

They have been a form team for a couple of months, whilst we have had zero form for months. No team in the Premier League outside the top two sustain form for that long, and even the worst teams go on a run of form (see Wolves little run).

The fact that even after West Hams great run of form and our non existent form for months they are only 2 points ahead, would suggest we should finish ahead of them because it's likely their form is going to have a downturn (especially with the pressure of now being out of the bottom 3 and it being squeaky bum time) and we are overdue an upturn in results, which if our performances go on the trajectory they are under RDZ we will get.

This is of course only law of averages/logic talking and of course football can have a mind of it's own, but if I was a betting man I would lean towards us finishing ahead of the Hammers...

To think that ENIC considered Nuno a good fit for Tottenham back when we were blessed with Kane & Son up front so were more than capable of scoring 2+ goals every game… whilst we’ve now got a bunch of cloggers in attack and haven’t kept a clean sheet since December 🤪

Wow, Chelsea are brick. can only mean we'll lose at their ground
All those billions spent, and still brick! If it wasn't for our record at their place (or rather lack of record), I would actually think even we'd smash them!
Nwver going to happen though.
