*** The official 2025/26 Premier League thread ***

It would actually be funny if Villa win the PL with Arse runner ups again.

That would be the ninth time in the history of the PL that they finish second - and they would've done so behind six different teams; Manure, Chelski, Leicester, City, Liverpool and Villa. Which must surely also be a record.

Out of the three or four teams likely to I’d love to see Villa win it.

and if they do finish 2nd they will still get away with any criticism from the media (especially Sky) yet again
no other team gets a free ride like they do

Because a lot of sides in the prem are actually cack.

It's a remarkable league now. The best teams and players in the world all playing like Sclamhorpe. I reckon a lot of these teams could play good football, but don't, for whatever reason. Everyone following Arse's lead of playing boring set piece flimflam. Weird how football is so cyclical with trends. Remember how a few years back set pieces and crosses were declared dead? It was like the law of gravity on here, "nah, we scored from a set piece, but it's just a fluke, no point practising them, brick chances, regressing to mean blah blah blah" as if it was the gospel. Haha, goes to show how little we know.

It shows how rubbish we have been that we sit in 14th and they are 4th.

But also shows how things can change in football, see Villa also who a couple of months ago were below us in the league (albeit we aren't going to win ten plus games in a row :D).

But it's true to say it's where you finish that counts, there's hope for us still....

Being originally from a big West Ham fan area in Essex, they were the team I always couldn't stand more than any other. They hate us and I was surrounded by them, would love to see it - could be their year.....
Hope Leeds get at least a point, preferably a win. In a straight race to avoid relegation, between Dyche's Forest and Wet Spam, there's only one winner and it ain't Wet Spam!

Time to buck the trend and build a maverick team around Williams-Barnett.

Totally agree, and precisely why I’d be getting ahead of the curve before the next inevitable rebound to attacking, possession based football.
