There was an article recently (or maybe a rehash of an old one), where Carroll mentions how he had no real interest in football. He would go to training, play games and look forward to going out in Saudi Sportswashing Machine with mates after, Said how he never knew who they were playing next, or who played for the opposition etc. Then he mentioned how when he signed for Liverpool he only really knew they had Carragher and Gerrard and was googling their squad to research a bit before he arrived there.
