Well if we were going to name talented footballers of Turkish decent the list would include the likes of Mesut Ozil, Serder Tasci, Mehmett Scholl, Gokhan Inler, Hakan Yakin, Eren Derdiyok who are all talented.

Most "Turkish" footballers that have been successful outside Turkey were raised outside Turkey would be my conclusion.

As I am of Greek Cypriot descent I'd struggle to support a player like Sahin at Spurs unfortunately.
Have several friends of gooner descent who feel the same.

Did you watch a lot of their games or is this statement only based on those stats?

Sahin is a tremendous talent, I don't even understand why this is being discussed.

Sure, he hasn't been good enough to dislodge Alonso and Khedira, that doesn't say much imo. Was good enough for Mourinho to buy him in the first place while with Dortmund and he was missed, especially at the start of the season, they managed to compensate though.

he is a talent, i never said he wasnt, but he is still young and has more to prove imo. My point about his time at Dortmund was that they never really missed him as much as people thought they would, in fact the team outperformed his time there, even without Goetze for a big part last season

Which with our budget and resources is the type of player we should be buying..

I wasn't lieing when I said Saudi prince had a look around the new training ground earlier btw, it doesn't seem to be acknowledged. I haven't just signed up to post either my old username is yiddo which I can't seem to get a password reminder of so had to sign up again!

We got more points with Gomes, Charlie, Bassong, Palacios, Hudd, Kranjcar, Crouch and Defoe in the team than we did last season. Most of you would have an aneurysm at the thought of those players making up the majority of our team next season.

ok, if we would like Sahin to replace Modric, why is Mourinho wanting to pay over 30 mill for Modric when he already has Sahin and has had him for only a year. Isnt there anything strange aboout that?

also, the rumour is AVB doesnt want Sahin, was never interested. Has AVB spoken to Mourinho about Sahin?

strange

i have no problem with them whatsoever

@FootballAgent49: Oscar Cardozo, Robert Lewandowski, Edinson Cavani and Hulk are all options on the table for Chelsea

@FootballAgent49: Tottenham and West ham are both interested in signing Malaga striker Rondon, available in a cut price 8m deal.

There was a picture from the US tour (LA?) with a mystery man between Levy and AVB. Could have been a Saudi prince or an ex-owner of Portsmouth.

Ah, @FootballAgent49. Not affiliated with @FootballAgent46, who's actually a legit agent, and definitely not lifting all his info off others. 8-[

Have the didlo twins found a new niche market of Internet porn? Can't understand where West Ham are getting this money from.

They've barely signed anyone, just a load of rumours - much like we used to be linked with just about everyone and end up with sod all......

You make the point about Götze, but that's just the thing, it wasn't the same Dortmund side. They missed him, but meanwhile players like Kagawa and Lewandowski were settled and performed better their many young players benefited from the experience they had gained.

According to Wikipedia Sahin got the Kicker player of the season award in his last year with Dortmund.

I don't find it all that strange. Just means that according to Mourinho Modric is better than Sahin, and that at Real very good probably isn't good enough for what they're trying to do.

You can probably say the same thing about any midfielder we try to buy to replace Modric should he leave. Not as good as Modric, not good enough for Real Madrid. I can live with that.
