Decimating the fourth-largest military in the world in 1991 with an Allied kill to casualty ratio of somewhere between 65 and 70 to 1, while utterly annihilating Iraq's military industries to the point where they were little more than empty concrete buildings the second time around in 2003.....doesn't seem to be much more he could have done in the arse-kicking department, really.

Popular legend has it that the Brits wanted to take Saddam dead or alive but deferred to Sir Stormin's decision as overall commander to leave him in power.

I'm not knocking the guy though, anyone who can work the expression "bovine scatology" into a press briefing is alright by me. :)
