****Spurs v Burnley****

Pirate55

The Last Man Standing 17/18
Where: Turf Moor
When : April Fools Day
At : 3pm

Assuming the injuries to Kane, Lamela,Rose and VJ's illness, the team really picks itself.

......................Lloris.......................

.......Dier...........Toby.........Verts..........

Walker........Wanny.......Dembele......Davies

......................Eriksen........................

..............Son.........Dele.....................

We have too much power in midfield and strangle them

2-0 Son and Dele

Oh no.....I fear I am turning into Lawro :(

COYS Badgers Ahoy!!!!

-----------------Lloris-----------------
---------Dier--- Toby--- Vert--------
Walker Wanyama Dembele Davies
-------------Alli --Eriksen------------
-----------------Son-------------------

Predicting a draw 2-2, in the hope that my pessimism ends up rewarding us with 3 points.

fudge it.
We will win.
Janssen's lovely fat arse guaranteed to bounce one in, Dembele to score from his first shot in 2017, a late concession to give us kittens but 3 points in the baggarooney!

What in the actual fudge? No OMT in the title? You want us to lose, don't you? You Lamela hating bastard. :p

There seems to be a theme lately that the more irreverent the OMT, the better we play, so I was just following the latest convention. The fact that we had got to within 48 hours of a Premier League game with no OMT is almost unprecedented in itself, no? I certainly hope the team turn up more than you lazy gg fudgers.

BTW, I don't hate Lamela. But I am also not as sold on him as some rosy tints on here. I am concerned about his latest injury, (and his injury record in general) and whether something more worrying lies beneath. However, having said that, I don't necessarily think we should sell him, but I would prefer someone who could play Eriksen's role in the team as I don't think that is Lamela. Our current squad lacks the alternative guile and vision Eriksen provides when he is not in the team that is all.

A shame the boy Lamela won't play the slightest role in this game. Happily, there's a whole Erik Lamela thread to expound upon.

Tough game. I see them as another West Brom. Players will need to be up for a fight. I do have some respect for their CDs - Mee and Keane. I dislike Barnes. He reminds me of Long in that they try every dirty trick to get your player sent off or on a yellow. A lot will depend on the team's psyche that day.

PS Danny Ings must be pretty upset. Would have fit Spurs far more than Liverpool.

We have a crap record at Burnley so this will be tough but I can see us nicking it 2-1.

Agree with the team btw. Even if Jansen was 100% after his illness I'm not sure he's really done enough to deserve a start.

Ings took the £££ and it hasn't paid off (shock horror)

Absolutely brilliant from the main man, the comments about loyalty are well documented, but I especially love his comments on Lamela; 'it's time to show love and treat him like a human being, not a footballer.'

Unfortunately it does suggest the club were the ones who decided to be cautious on opting for surgery, not Erik himself (@thfcsteff)

Certain as I ca be we will lose this one 2-1

I thought he was talking about his teams game against City? I'm certain they'll lose that as well, would be great if plucky little Arsenal could do us a favour though and nick a point off them.

It feels like forever since we last played. A good home side, Burnley, but I can see us nicking this, 2-1 us!

I feel like there are only two real questions. First, whether Poch will start Janssen or Son up front. Sonny played in South Korea on Wednesday night, and while he would be the first choice, it's possible he won't be in great condition for Saturday. It feels like Poch will go with whoever trains better on Friday.

Second, as Moussa played 85 minutes on Wednesday, it's possible Winks would come in for him. But I think he'll start Dembele.

My guess:

Lloris
Walker - Dier- Toby - Verts - Rose
Wanyama - Dembele
Eriksen - Dele
Janssen

Think we'll win. COYS

It's Burney away, we all know about their home record. We also know they are not a great football side but work their bloody nuts off. So it is absolutely imperative that we are up for this match as much as them as an absolute minimum.
