Optus Stadium is set to host its second EPL blockbuster exhibition games in the space of a year, with a pair of English giants heading to Perth.

And the two marquee match-ups are set to kick off a three-week festival of football in Perth, comprising of seven games in 20 games.

The blockbusters will raise the curtain on a 20-day festival of football — which will include Perth’s slate of FIFA Women’s World Cup matches.

West Ham will take on Perth Glory on Saturday July 15, before the Hammers take on London rivals Spurs on Tuesday July 18.

The games will be the only chance for fans to see the two EPL outfits in Australia this winter.

The friendlies will provide the perfect precursor to Perth’s Women’s World Cup games, which kick off with Denmark taking on China at HBF Park on July 22.

Perth will then host Canada vs Ireland, Panama vs Jamaica, Denmark vs Haiti and Morocco vs Colombia in the following fortnight. It means there will be seven high-profile matches in Perth within a 20-day period.

Tottenham boast an array of superstars, including England captain Harry Kane, South Korean forward Son Heung-min, Brazilian star Richarlison and World Cup-winners Hugo Lloris and Christian Romero.

It seems unlikely current manager Antonio Conte will make the trip, however, with growing speculation the Italian is on his way out.

Fans of West Ham, who are currently led by former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes, will hope to see their biggest stars, England internationals Declan Rice and winger Jarrod Bowen as well as Brazilian world cup star Lucas Paqueta.

Spurs currently sit fourth in the EPL, while West Ham’s status as an EPL side is currently in limbo, with the club in 18th and in a fight to avoid relegation to the Championship.

The sporting coup will come almost a year to the day Optus Stadium hosted two EPL exhibition games in as many nights, when Leeds United played Crystal Palace and Manchester United clashed with Aston Villa.

Tourism minister Roger Cook said the two upcoming Optus Stadium games and the Women’s World Cup matches would provide a significant economic boost.

“We know these high-profile sporting matches have a strong economic impact and I’m pleased the WA Government, through Tourism WA and its partners, have continued to secure these major sporting events,” he said.

“Hosting these top teams from across the globe attracts more visitors to our State, which means more hotels are filled and more dollars are spent in our excellent restaurants, bars, cafes and local businesses, and firms up our reputation as one of the sporting capitals of the southern hemisphere.”

Sport and recreation minister David Templeman said the matches would be a great entree to the World Cup.

“Hosting such prestigious football events is great for the grassroots game – kids will be inspired and spurred on to give the game a go themselves,” he said.

“I am so pleased that Western Australia is supporting these matches in addition to the FIFA Women’s World Cup and look forward to watching them play with thousands of fans.”

Tickets to the matches go on sale next week, with club presales beginning on March 24 to allow international fans and Australian members to get their hands on tickets first and general public tickets going on sale on March 28.

All tickets will be available at footballinperth.com.au.

And no, we're not hiring Postecoglou.

I guess we'll tour the US the next 2 summers ahead of the world cup, really want to do a family holiday and take in a pre season tour sometime.

It would be nice to play some local teams on these trips as well.

Or have pre/end season games just become pl exhibition matches?
