Savinho

Of course they do. They won't admit it, of course, but the club is nothing without the fans, and going into a new season with this level of toxicity (from what I've gathered online, anyway) won't be good for the team in any way. The media loves to feast on bad moods and it all spirals pretty quickly. I think they care a great deal about it.
I believe they are aware, and they do care - but they also know that the proportion of fans that are engaged with social media (outside of watching YouTube videos) is actually pretty small. The noise is louder than the reality.

Is Savinho worth 70m? Well you don't really know. Ultimately anything is worth what somebody is willing to pay. So if we are willing to pay 70m then they are worth that. The context to this is that City don't really want to sell, or more accurately there are some at the club that dont want to sell but others that acknowledge the player wants first team football, which they can't regularly provide right now. And the context also is there is a sense that if someone were to bid enough (and probably overpay on paper) they may consider doing business. So you've got to look at this deal not in terms of the black and white "what are they worth right now on the pitch" but in terms of "how often does a player of that talent with PL experience and a huge ceiling potentially be available at a price that while inflated is still *payable*"

The PSG chairman and Levy definitely are, and there has been speculation a few times about them buying a stake in Spurs. Think I remember them being seen together at one of the F1 GPs too.

Never heard anything about the Emirates Marketing Project chairman and Levy though....

The f1 was the other guy that was rumoured to be interested wasn't it?

Wouldn't say well over the price. I would've thought nearer £50m but it isn't hugely over the top. If he gets anywhere near his full potential it'll be money well spent even at £60m.

Maybe, o think many are putting alot of faith in potential and his nationality IMO.

Club can fill the seats every game without it’s hardcore fans
Online vibes are never ever what you see at a game

That's good to hear. It's really hard to gauge these things when you only get to go to a game once a season or less, so the online vibe is really all you get. Thanks!

With the greatest of respect Grays, have you watched him much?

People on this board aren't stupid, they don't think 'Ooo he's a Brazilian, he's mustard'. He is a (really) good player already, and a guaranteed upgrade on what we have out wide. Is he still a bit raw? Sure, he's 21. But his potential is massive, considering he would walk into this side that is telling....

This is going to drag on with no alternatives until the end of the window when we end up not getting him
Let's see. You would like to think after the Emirates Marketing Project game things get moving. But it's quite clear with our transfers from what I can see in previous years that usually, when things are dragged out bit by bit in the media it doesn't happen.

Usually once things has broken in the media about us being in for the player it gets done fairly quickly. Not always granted, but most of the time it doesn't get drawn out for too long in the media....

And with the greatest respect back, I have and I don't see a 60-70m player, is that allowed also? There is and always will be an element of wanting players through sheer hope and them being new, I won't be told otherwise.

The caveat is that I hope these players. if they sign. shove it down my throat and prove me wrong, I am not on here trying to be right and I want the club to improve, but I stand by my original comment.

As for the bold, thats a massively low bar which feeds into my point, it sounds slightly desperate

Of course you're allowed to think that, I picked up on your point because you mentioned about his nationality as if fans are swayed by the fact he's Brazilian. And I dont doubt you will back him if he comes.

Another poster has already said about value, and we aren't crazy spenders so if we want to spend 60m pounds on a player then that says a lot about how highly we rate him and the fact that City wont just let him go for market value as they have done with others is also telling - he featured in most of their games last season. By the time he's Kudus age in four years I'd bet he's worth more than what we pay.

Haha yeah our wingers are average, this guy I see as a big upgrade for the now and definitely the future - he's really exciting for me and the prospect of him and Kudus on either wing would be fantastic. But of course we can disagree on that, and again this is a deal not done so don't want to tempt fate going back and forth as if it is :D....

Lets see, I hope if he comes he lifts us, because GHod do we need it, I think we can agree there

If I was running City the last thing I would do is sell a player to a team who have a recent good record against us just before we were playing them. I'm open minded about him as he doesn't appear to be what we need immediately but you can never have too many good players.
