Richarlison

But he’s not, he’s one of the better strikers in the PL, all things considered.
If we are ranking strikers on the least touch time with the ball or best at eating grass then he's definitely a winner, but at the things that a normal person would actually want a striker to do, well then you're fudged.

I know you hate goals but occasionally you actually want your striker to score some or at the minimum appear like maybe he might.

How many strikers are registered in PL squads?

I’d guess around 80.

How many have better stats this season?

What percentile is he in?

Who is passing to him? How are we creating chances? Against Burnley we played with two 8s, both of whom are happy to try a carry and pass, and he scored a brace. He's not been magnificent or even overly decent, however it's worth measuring that none of the frontline are getting much service or scoring goals. The reaction to his Saudi Sportswashing Machine performance is actually disproportionate; he ended up being very close to scoring twice and fought hard against a defence and referee who had no time for him.

I think we have to upgrade myself, and I think we need to (from now on) play him off the left and start with Muani (based on nothing solid BTW). But I think it's worth adding some context to his season...

I've got faith in the don to find something in a LW for January.

Must be someone in Serie A who'd be better than what we have out there now (which is nothing). Sad thing is he doesn't even have to be a world beater, just competent enough to provide balance.

If you believe the press, there's a release clause for Semenyo. IF we want to behave differently to the past, then we should trigger it in January if we believe he is the one and if TF really wants him.

Except a release clause doesn't mean much. We acted differently to get mgw & he stayed at Forest it could easily happen again but I agree we should give it a go

The MGW one was a bungle.
IF we have the right info on his clause and we trigger it into action, providing it is written to release the player on trigger, it would work. I agree, we don't know the details, so in that sense yes, you might well be right.

clause or not he would be an instant upgrade and a few more points guranteed for CL placing. just get him or we restart ENIC OUT
