Racism in football

Or worry about all of them you prick
I don't condone racism, but in the grand scheme of things being called a hurty word falls into the realms of insignificance. People can call me a polar bear or anything that resembles something white and it doesn't bother me, but I don't have a chip on my shoulder. I hate anything resembling woke, and people should just grow some balls (even women)

So in your view black people should just suck up being called Monkeys or N1ggers because their is poverty in the world...........

Kin hell

It's not just about the name calling though. You allow the name calling, you encourage a viewpoint that black people are inferior and you then see them disadvantaged in very real ways. A cursory look at history as well as some common sense will tell you that happens.

Even if it was "just being called a hurty word", it promotes division and conflict on the basis of what you are and not who you are and shouldn't be tolerated in any society (which can also tackle crimes like murder and hate at the same time amazingly).

Not sure if you're on the wind up but yours is a pretty ignorant view.

Racism is an opinion, and everyone is entitled to an opinion. Racialism is an action, and should be condemned. Watch the video above and he makes a comparison with ginger people, what's the difference?

If I were to generalise I would say I quite like Indian Hindus, but dislike Pakistani Muslims, is that racist, and if so why am I not entitled to an opinion?

With every reply you’re just looking more bigoted tbh. This whole thing of calling blatant racism ‘woke’ is just a good way of highlighting you’re stuck in days gone by.

Referring to someone by using racist slurs isn’t just ‘hurty words’. “Racism is an opinion” Christ almighty.

What part of the video am I watching? It's 21 mins long. However, the comparison of what black people have suffered historically and what ginger people have "suffered" is disingenuous to say the least.

On your last sentence, the point is that it is wrong to like or dislike an entire group because of what they are.

That's correct, and everyone is entitled to an opinion. I don't consider myself racist because I take everyone as an individual, and in actual fact my best mate is Anglo Indian (and he is horribly racist), however I respect the right for anyone to like or dislike whom they wish. Once again though, don't confuse racism with racialism

Of course it is, because you are literally lumping everyone into a net to peddle a prejudice views, likely because you have built up a profile of what you believe each to be despite there being millions of each that don't fit that profile

I take everyone as an individual

According to the above you don't? So what is it?

So you never generalise? I like the Dutch, but I don't like the French, that doesn't mean I am not capable of liking a French person. Generalising is what human beings do. Police have to profile, which means they search more young black men for knives than white old ladies, does that make them racist? Once again, we all have the right to dislike who we want for what ever reason we want. I

I once worked in Brixton, and all the guys who worked for me were Afro Caribbean. If you listen to the woke you are told they can't be racist, yet they hated all Asian people, most white people, and believe it or not they didn't like Africans either. My point being, if that footballer made a remark to a white person about his colour it would have been deemed acceptable. I suspect you believe racism is a one way street, I don't

Human beings are tribal pack animals regardless of where they live in the world, no legislation will ever change this, so we may as well accept it and move on

So you in favour of transitioning individuals and gender fluidity? That is quite woke of you.

Racialism - a pseudoscience that underpins racism. There isn't anything to confuse between the two. One is the 'philosophical' BS that allows the other to be spewed as something more than subjective 'opinion'.

In answer to the comment highlighted above if the profiling is not done on age then yes it is racist. If they aren't searching the proportional similar number of young white and, young asian men then that is racist profiling. If they are searching more old black ladies than old white ladies, that too is racist because it is relying on a racialism trope that black people are more likely to be offenders. If it is done on age then it is ageist but the statistics at least back that up that young people are more likely to be carrying knives than old people.

Racism is a fairly one way street as it is about the power differential between different people. That street may look different in different places - white friends who worked in Japan in the 1990s felt that they were institutionally and individually discriminated against due to their skin colour/ for not being Japanese. Doesn't really carry here in almost any situation though.

So if the vast majority of knife crime in London is committed by young black men then the police should carry out as many searches on white young men, Asian young men, and Oriental young men in order we can tick yet another box. It's crazy woke policies like that that are destroying this country and costing us a fortune.

The so called discrimination you refer to in Japan hasn't changed, as it hasn't in South Korea. People from outside the country can indeed work there and even live there, however it is almost impossible to progress. As a result they have managed to maintain a mono culture, and research indicates the happiest people in the world live in mono cultures. These facts may well upset you, but they are facts.

Going back to the thread, I don't condone racism, and certainly don't condone racialism, but I'm pretty fed up with a minority of people in society who believe it is the most heinous of crimes, when in reality we probably live in one of the least racist countries on the planet.

The world is not a great big melting pot, it never has been and it never will be. If we stopped all this stupid legislation and woke box ticking then perhaps people from different ethnicities and cultures would make more of an effort to integrate rather than to rely on laws formed by politicians who never actually live in the areas that create resentment amongst the indigenous population. Such statements may not please the left idealism, but reality rarely does

No one on here has said its the most heinous of crimes, people have called it for what it is........racism, and us being in the UK doesn't mean we can't comment on whats happening in football.

You keep saying "I don't condone racism" yet you seem to have a real bee in your bonnet about people calling it out. Your "but" pretty much cancels out anything else you have said about not condoning stuff because your comments after are just riddled with excuses why it should be ignored or accepted

I don't see it as any more serious than people having the micky taken out of them because they are ginger, having a big nose, or large feet. I live in a world surrounded by friends who love banter, and given the chance any one of them will take the p155 for what ever reason. Occasionally some of it is offensive, but it's my belief offence is taken and not given, and in the words of the great Rowan Atkinson, nobody has the right NOT to be offended.

Racist remarks should not be made on the playing field, but it's worth noting Vinicious Junior has already made about 20 complaints regarding racism, so perhaps even you may want to think about that one. There are so many bad things going on in the world, perhaps we should put things into perspective and realise a bit of name calling falls into the realms of insignificance. I would be happy to stand in the middle of a football pitch stark naked and allow people to sing what ever they want on the condition I get paid one weeks salary of a top football player, and I suspect you would as well.

Even if that is the case in London any stop and search has to be targeted and intelligence led.
Unless you think it is OK for any young black male to be stopped and searched randomly, over and over again, just because they are black? That’s exactly how resentment of the authorities germinates and grows. Because most young black males will not be carrying knives.

I heard an interview with I think it was was a police chief constable year or so ago and he was saying that whilst knife crime might be more prevalent among black youngsters in London, in somewhere like Manchester it is very much white young males. Does anyone call for random stop and search of that demographic?

It’s not a chip on the shoulder as you mentioned in an earlier post (which is a horrible phrase anyway, probably second only, in this context, to “playing the race card”). The vast majority of people just want to lead a straightforward life without being subjected to prejudice because of how they look. But unfortunately that’s what many face on a daily basis. Posts like yours just re-enforce that.

Research suggests that while there is no direct, innate relationship between ethnicity and knife-carrying, factors like poverty, lack of opportunity, and systemic issues create a higher concentration of violence within specific minority communities. (Statistics on Ethnicity and the Criminal Justice System, 2022, UK Govt).

OK so lets rephrase - if they are stopping an equal number of poor white and poor Asian young men.

To suggest it is linked to race is identifiably wrong.

Interestingly, the same report highlights that black and minority offenders are more likely to get a custodial sentence which then translates to further lack of opportunities, more poverty and the spiral continues for them and their families. If only something could be done differently??

Be interested to see your sources on mono-culture and happiness. My brief scan through LSE , National Health Institute and ResearchGate peer-reviewed papers didn't make a clear case for it. Japan ranked 27th out of 30 countries surveyed in 2025 for happiness with 40% of the population and apparently Japan regularly places around the 50s or lower for happiness in global studies. They have high life satisfaction but average happiness. The 2025 rankings seem to be dominated by small countries (Nordic, Costa Rica, Netherlands, Israel, New Zealand, Ireland, Belgium, Australia) with Mexico being the largest by population I would guess in the top 20. Few of these are truly mono-cultural.

P.S. always love a sign off that throws in the underlying political grievances. Bless you, Grandpa. Enjoy your horlicks before bedtime.
