I don't find it that difficult to believe that he got cold feet. He is a weird murderous heartless nazi, but also a fudging coward. I would not be surprised if the EU gave him a call and threatened sanctions. That is a guess, but they have plenty of leverage if they choose to use it.

Starshield is run by the US government is what I read. I have no idea to be honest, but considering its military applications maybe that tracks. I'm sure the idea to throttle speeds came from Musk, though.
And now Donny has waived sanctions on the Russians from the Lindsay Graham Act. Yeah....he is a fudging traitor.

Well they have they stung him for 120mil there recently so sometimes they do flex. If Musk goes too far, I think they will get involved.

There is definitely a sense of unraveling going on....whether that's the tortured minds of these narcissists or Trump getting in a flap because 'i might not be the most popular guy' in the midterms on Nov 3rd....or a bit of both.
Most of it has been created by Trump having zero experience (or idea) of geopolitics. He's in such a muddle

We all largely need to not touch anything produced by the man. I'm amazed people, who abhor what he does, still use Twitter. I needed Starlink but no thanks. I canned Twitter. All these people understand is money. Hit them in their pockets and they shut the fudge up quite quickly.
