Pushing Up The Daisies

Wow. Well played her. Clouded with sadness though? (Sorry don’t know your parents’ situation - and certainly not asking you to explain).

No its fine, my dads got dementia and COPD, got a chest infection and went downhill fast, we have been prepared for this kind of thing for years now, not to sound cold, but its not been a shock but you can't prepare for the sadness.

The money is much needed, pays my mums mortgage, my dad has no life insurance, he lived on edge, so its money much needed, I am delighted for my mum.

I remember when I was born, my dad tells a story how he was in the pub near the hospital and met a guy whose wife was dying as I was born, its stayed with me and is something that makes yesterday even more impactful on me at this time. I am not religious, this forums proves it hahaha, but I do think the world gives and takes away at times.

Coincidentally, when my wife first went into labour, we got a call from her parents that her grandma had died that same day.

Congrats on your mum's lottery win; she will probably need very careful guidance what to spent it on and what/how to save, as parents sometimes have strange ideas e.g. my dad suddenly decided to leave a third of his money to the WWF and he had never mentioned the WWF previously, I literally thought it was some wrestling organisation but it was the World Wildlife Fund, and he had never shown any interest in wildlife WHATSOEVER previously. Baffling.

Enjoy and remember the good times pal. No one wins in life, no one makes it out alive.

Congrats to your mum on her win, I hope that she gets to enjoy it.

Cheers pal, going to pay the mortgage off and leave something to the grandkids, use the money to do some elevated things for the remainder of her life.........I am ecstatic for her

My Dad died about 8 weeks after finding out my wife was pregnant (with a boy as it turned out.) The circle of life and all that. His death has allowed my mum to come and visit her grandson 2 weeks after he was born.

Congrats on the winnings!
Life seems to be that way at times. Congrats on your child
