I've only just seen this. He was a sensation when he starter just knockout anyone he fought until he beat Ulrich Regis, He ko'd him and Ulrich went into coma and died the next day, after that he went into his shell, he defeated "Our 'Enry" and was never forgiven by the public.

Redford was loved by the camera and seemed to dominate the screen in scenes, was good to watch him and Newman in films.

Would have bet my mortgage on him being dead a minimum of 15 years ago. Sad, nonetheless - loved watching many of his films.

He was a really nice and funny guy
His parents lived opposite a mate of mine in Gee Cross and when he started out pro he used to drink a pub called the Cheshire cheese. I’d go up to see Dave and Ricky would be in the pub with his mum and dad. His dads nice too, a carpet fitter
Last time I saw Ricky he was in a Village hotel in Stockport way drinking on his own it was just after breakfast time. We went and said hello and he was nice and started telling us a few silly stories
