Hot the names of a few cheap places mate? Wanna note them down for next month!!
Don't go into the centre much these days as I tend to stay more in the area I live, 4, but here are a few that we use on a normal work night out etc and a couple from memory.
Pivoarsky Dum is not too bad, home brewed beer and some interesting variations on the taste too - have to confess I am not a huge fan of the beer so would only have 2-3.
Jama's
U Medvidku
Stare Csay
James Joyce - Yes an UK based pub which I already said avoid lol, but I have to include as it has the best burger I have tasted here in a long while.
The
Kolkovna chain is not too bad, but a little higher than norm prices. Olympic's mixed-grill looked really nice whenever I saw it.
Favourite place on the river to chill,
Fish Restaurant
U Bileho lva is off the beaten track into Prague 6 but worth the visit, excellent place for food really is -
U-Bileho Lva Only I would say call them or go earlier than normal as they get a lot of reservations.
U Vejvodu Have to mention it as you will no doubt walk past it most days, its decent enough tbh and has some good "beer food" too but the main food I have not always been impressed with.
Cafe Louvre is good too, bang in the Centre near Tesco's, always looked like the place where it would cost an arm and a leg so I never went until last year - looks are deceptive, decent beer and food and the bonus of 5 pool tables too.
This place I love personally, just something about it where you can sit and forget about everything and just drink, does not look much to be fair but the Chef is still the same person from like 5 years ago and imo the food is really good and being a little further away from the centre you see the prices tumble.
Spirit Bar The beer steak is delicious

The Pub too, self serve beer on tap plus the usual's from the bar. The Prague 2 one is just up from my work place and is not too bad, food a little hit and miss, not been to the others though. The one in the centre is meant to be better (Prague 1)
And just to sake any traditional English tastes;-
Golden Tikka is quite a good Indian.
Noodle-Bar had great Thai food, but may be shut acc to this link which is a shame
Yam Yam's is supposed to be good but never been, but had their killer soup and fuk me it is hot beyond belief.
There is a lot more if you walk away from the centre, these are just places that I find acceptable, and personally I avoid the English and Irish pub in the centre. While the booze is the same near enough the prices are anything but.
Oh, and Tiger Bar and Golden Tree too - like I said, there are many to choose from
