Not sure what happened, meant to say a total gimmick. Fuel prices are already available online, if they really want to help they could cut fuel duty, reduce energy prices and boost uptake of EVs alongside it.
Could Burnham be anymore subtle about trying to rejoin the EU, wouldn't be surprised if he calls an election next year with that as his main policy.
Feels like he has no ideas at all, monster majority and almost 3 years to go. There's plenty they could be getting on with now but they don't seem to be doing anything.

In modern politics (well Trumps version), you just say what you're going to do, don't be shy about it. Perhaps thats not in line with the contents of the (Starmers) manifesto, and there'd be calls for an election to mandate such a move BUT be bold about it.Reversing Brexit is the best thing the UK could do. It is worth about 100 billion a year, according to Bloomberg. Burnham is setting the stage.

Besides it's a good time to get people thinking it's not such a bad idea. 1. The original direction/decision hasn't exactly proven successful 2.Smooth out trade with our biggest business partner, anything to help business 3.Geopolitically it looks like Europe needs to stick strongly together in the short to midterm, and if we have to draw a line in the sand with Trump, it'll be better with Europe looking united. (The opposite to what the dictators are plotting or want)
It was Cameron promising one just to be elected for another term iircWas there actual need for a referendum to leave the EU in the first place? I can't remember the terms or could the government have said "look we are leaving for the better of the UK" in the same way now, in theory they could say the same about re-joining?
