Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Shocking on Newsnight re the Morocco/Ceuta/Spain/incident that no one is mentioning how most of the 'migrants' have now returned to Morocco and won't be crossing into the UK (despite still being in North Africa).

Interesting (and encouraging) in the Manchester mayoral that half of the Tory voters rowed in behind Labour for their second preference, rather than Reform

I'll play.

What was the upside for coming out and saying it came from a Lab leak in Wuhan? How do you think agents of chaos might've used that unproven morsal? What carnage mighr've occurred?

Point missed entirely. Fauci attempted to steer away from lab leak because his the organisation he led funded the research which took place in that lab and others.

Purley in terms of playing the game….not telling lies is typically a good thing. Then tend to catch up with you….and have done here. Even much of the left leaning press have turned on him this week. His reputation is in tatters.

I've been to Morocco a couple of times....I've never realised Spain had two territories on the mainland of Africa (and I'm usually pretty good with all things Geography).

2 questions

Why hasn't this been an issue before (migrants wanting to reach the EU via a seemingly simple route)?

And circling back to our own migrant issues...can someone not just 'swim round' to Gibraltar from the Spain side (yes, I had a look on Google maps).. would that constitute them arriving in the 'UK' ...or are immigration rules different when arriving on the Rock?.

The only reason I was already aware of the existence of Ceuta is because of Henning Wehn’s anecdote on Would I Lie To You!

Although I probably shouldn’t mention him on this thread as he was once too an illegal immigrant…

Question 3 should be: why do Spain also conveniently forget about the 2 territories when periodically cutting off Gibraltar to try and reclaim it?

Having been to Gibraltar though, I'm surprised they want it. I was expecting a Mediterranean Southampton or Brighton, not a Hull or Coventry.

What point have I missed? Yours? Oh, apologies, I was unclear there was only one point to be made...

...what proof do you actually have that covid was 100% a lab leak? You speak of it as though it is proven. Look, I might well have missed that proof somewhere, so if I have, please, educate me. You do know that his was not the only 'organisation' funding such research, right? And again, you have a theory which to the best of my knowledge is unproven. He could well have been advised to steer public eyes away from the potential of a lab leak from Wuhan precisely to avoid a public meltdown which could've led to a full-blown diplomatic crisis and so much more.

Well, lies certainly do not catch up with everyone do they.

And I'm sorry, your last sentence is rubbish. Most people see this as a witch hunt designed to pin blame on one person.
I have to say, I find the timing of this whole thing extraordinarily strange...meanwhile, anyone keeping an eye on this strain of ebola which is currently moving beyond outbreak stage? Do we know what it is exactly? Have we confirmed how it works? Is the funding still in place? Honestly, I think there are so many bigger fish to fry...

They were always going to return, this looks like it was a totally manufactured event. No way anyway was swimming the 8 miles over.

The media and a host of scare mongers need to hang their heads on the reporting
