Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

The passive agressive attitude is genuinely unnecessary. Coupled with your inability to deal with facts or understand basic political theory, you are genuinely the most uninformed poster on here. To then carry on like some non agitator.....

I'll say it again. Touch grass.

Here's the thing I personally believe he doesn't want to admit.
I believe he thinks the only reason I posted anything was because we're friends. As I said, the reason I posted was because that specific 'big man I am in charge' rubbish genuinely aggravated me enough to say something about it. Of course I could've kept quiet (as I usually do) but I felt like not being quiet for once.

BTW the use of another referendum is bat brick crazy. The whole EU thing with the current climate is not what the country wants. I was pro remain. It's done now. Why the idiots in govt think it's a plan is nuts. You've spent 2 years flirting with Brexit mindset and now have decided you want to gain back the middle classes lol. Who is advising Starmer ffs.

Yeh, I think Brexit was clearly a massive cluster fcuk and still is, but they have to move on and make things work, I am sure without trying to write government strategy on a football forum that there is a middle ground to work with when working with the EU as key partners still

We are friends and you rarely wade in when I'm getting abused or when I'm dishing out abuse. I wish I had your resolve tbh. And to date I've never seen you use the patronising tone me and Gazza use with each other. Hence me jumping in.

Anyway he's gonna start talking about Sharia courts and how Pakistanis are the root of all evil again soon. Or how left wing politics are a thing he doesn't know how to define but he's convinced he's an expert on it. Or how Tommy needs to be heard. It's tiring but I get itchy

And I suspect a portion of the 15% non nationals claiming have worked and contributed previously.

Of whats left then yeh if you can prove a trend and no intent to work then yeh deport. But the no intent to work should be the driver, not the nationality

But I dont suspect its happening in the numbers people think and I also suspect all the benefit packages being ranted about on Twitter and Intagram are not what people are getting..
Pretty much nobody travels half way round the world with an intention of claiming benefits IMO.

Let's just lay out some facts here:

- You have to be a UK tax payer to get UC in the UK, so all people recieving UC, including migrants, are paying tax
- Migrants are just people who have moved here legally, illegal immigrants can never get UC
- The majority of migrants claiming UC are European, not from the Middle East
- The biggest problem isn't that it's migrants claiming UC, it's that people who are earning enough to meet the relatively high bar both to remain and claim UC as a migrant *STILL CAN'T AFFORD TO LIVE*

What this isn't:
- a bunch of brown people arriving in a dinghy claiming benefits they've not earned access to

I think we don't fully understand cultural differences either when it comes to unemployment stats either. The stats were posted on here about a year ago relating to unemployment (non benefit claiming if I remember) communities in Tower Hamlets and what was coming through in the stats and reporting is that culturally in many communities such and Bangla women are home makers whilst men work.

I won't post two separate posts but here are the stats on FT carers in the UK https://www.carersuk.org/policy-and-research/key-facts-and-figures/

We've explained this with Covid. Brexit. Aging population. This spending doesn't mean we didn't have austerity. We literally had austerity. They called it austerity. And poor people struggled through austerity.

What should we call the thing I call austerity?
‘Living beyond one’s means’ or ‘future bankruptcy’ or ‘ensuring our kids grandkids and great grandkids will likely be very poor indeed and have pitiful, if any, public services’

Basically any (irresponsible) term you like other than ‘austerity’

OK so it was austerity after all. Glad we made it

It’s perturbing that even as a supporter of absolutely everything he said, I couldn’t bear watching for more than a few seconds.
I really don't get the hate - I think it's a politics of envy because he has an announcement voice and reminds most people of "that manager they wanted to call a clam", combined with impatience from change.

He took over an utterly chaotic ship heading in a very bad direction. He has managed to slow that down and set a different course - but it's a huge turn to get it going in the right direction, and whilst he can steer adequately in controlled waters, What's needed is a rough seas and energetic captain that can galvanize the crew and get the passengers on board and focused on the reality of now ahead of saying "told you we should have booked a flight" or "the rich guy on the top deck says he's got a better boat at home, let's go with him".

Starmer was needed to do what he's done. It was always going to be a bumpy couple of years followed by a replacement (pretty sure I posted that a few years ago!).

Now it needs Blair like energy, Johnson like confidence and Thatcher like destruction of political enemies.
I really think only Reyner fits the bill, with a smartly chosen cabinet to placate the people that can't handle a woman, a ginger or a mowthy burd.
The likes of Thornberry, Burnham (I think she's already set the stage for him to be her no.2 and long term successor with her speech yesterday), Streeting, and some fresh blood to single actual change.
Get some moderate results for three years and actually tell people about them, whilst also being candid about the barriers to delivery and why the alternatives won't work.
I see Reyner as almost like a Chair type - setting direction, getting the team to deliver, and being the mouthpiece. Propaganda Minster if you like rather than Prime Minister.

That account is actually insane. And it's clearly a bot

Mate so many of them are, I have seen so many getting drawn into the Algo relating to the lies about Harriet Harman in the last 24hrs, not that I rate the woman but I think people would have more gravitas to their argument if they were not spreading so much BS

Its actually tough to filter out bots. On X I only look at the following tab. Never at the for you. I like my echo chamber of people who aren't community noted weekly.

You are unwell. May you find peace. Maybe after the game go and get some air you bellend.
Haha same old same old. But I get it, you can’t and won’t ever answer this.

At the very least though you don’t have a face on your avatar, angels can now enter your flat.
