That's dictation, not education?
Aside from the Food Preparation and Nutrition GCSE which has been running for years, and BTEC Food Science and Nutrition?
The government could help the people (and themselves) by asking the people to participate in their own health, exercise more, eat better and try to lose weight. I believe Boris Johnson even admitted that he was too fat during Covid when he contracted it and ended up in hospital. Given that it was a disease that mainly affected the elderly and obese people, I was stunned that more effort wasn’t put in to get people get healthier.
BOOM BOOMI do agree about the teachers having enough on their plate.
I have type 2 diabetes when I was diagnosed I booked an appointment with a dietitian. As i sat down she handed me this document with a list of foods with natural sugar & those with added sugar. I was shocked by how much food I was eating with added sugar. don't tell me food companies don't know what they are selling to us or even worse selling to our kids. You can't keep giving people poison and then complaining that they take it. Sugar is a drug pure and simple.
I think the social and infrastructural pressure long term is far greater than putting resources towards it early on. The NHS (despite the howls of immigrants) is under the weight of obesity, heart issues, drug abuses and drinking abuses, all of which stems from a lack of early mindset to each and following social norms before them.
I agree teachers are not the ones who need this at their door, but to echo @thfcsteff sentiments, more needs to be done early on to deal with society and how we can improve peoples lives and prospects.
BOOM BOOM
I also agree about the NHS being overwhelmed. It should be more of a governmental campaign to try and get people fitter and healthier. Whilst I feel the body positivity movement has been good for empowering people to not be embarrassed about their weight, personally I believe it’s gone too far the other way to the point where it’s almost encouraged. No issue with having plus sized models on magazines but please don’t plaster “this is healthy” on the front cover because it isn’t healthy. You’re not doing anyone any favours by pretending it is.
Yes, I think also you can have a shape and be healthy
Its always about the inner health, you can be 12 stone and stick thin but be smoking, boozing and sticking Peruvian dandruff up their hooter

To a point yes and it’s true that there are other factors at play when it comes to health. But it’s undeniable that being overweight contributes to many life threatening illnesses like heart disease, diabetes and cancer just to name a few. Any doctor or nutritionist worth their salt should push back against the idea that you can be healthy at any weight.
I mean female shape etc, women athletes are not the same as men, and people often call them fat, I think being body positive in that field is a good thing. Sorry was not making my point clear
None of the trans women I've met have ever been bothered by this. 20 complaints from some tiny minority within a tiny minority. And it makes the news.
Chances are it's not been trans women who have complained.None of the trans women I've met have ever been bothered by this. 20 complaints from some tiny minority within a tiny minority. And it makes the news.

But some things like lead in petrol or CFCs just need to be banned. Id say ultra-processed food and plastic are as big a risk to humanity as the former two wereProcessed sugar. Fruit sugar, natural fooods sugar, honey for example, are all great when used as part of a controlled and rational diet. Education is the first step. Banning things opens up a whole raft of potential issues IMO...
