PL rules, what rules ?

I read somewhere that Villa were going to sell their women's team for £55m while Chelsea sold theirs for £200m.
In what world are those actual market values?

In a similar vein, it seems like Forest are tryingt o buy Lyon players to help them improve their finances, win their appeal against relegation, remain in Europe and so stand a chance of Palace being unable to be in Europe and needing to be replaced by Forest!

Saudi Sportswashing Machine were sold for £300m. For context. Stadium and everything.
Even outside of football the government or authorities should look at it. Opens money laundering, tax evasion abuses etc...

Rules are just a nonsense, can the PL be taken seriously with clubs using every loophole to avoid PSR.

The only reasonable action is to deduct 10 points from Everton.

Tbf, it's like Chelsea doing the same with the ladies team and hotel situation, along with £50m made from being in the world club championship thing for winning the CL 5 years ago? Year after year, I hear about their chickens coming home to roost. I'm still patiently waiting! Always waiting. Eternally waiting. Waiting forevermore.

But it'll definitely happen soon right, just like City's charges.....

Along with dodgy deals for academy products to secure "pure profit", or just clubs feeling like they have to sell viable products of the academy to fund extravagant purchases.

The chickens coming home to roost thing that Tottenham fans cling on to so dearly just feels at this point like the old man shaking his fist at the Sun as it's rises and sets every day.

In the words of Marlo Stanfield "You want it to be one way, but it's the other way."

The only hope is the regulator.

All of the governing bodies unanimously give no fudges about enforcing anything they ever devise for fair play

When ever they come up with new FFP rules I just consider it to reflect what they feel is important for creating the illusion of upholding… rather than actually attempt to implement in practice

I really struggle to believe every big club in UEFA competition has thus far met FFP requirements over the last decade and a half . It doesn’t seem likely to me that only small Eastern European sides have ever failed to meet FFP

UEFA have fined big clubs for breaches of FFP/PSR , Roma 35 million euros in 2022, Inter 26 million in 2022, AC Milan one year ban in 2019 , there are others . UEFA do enforce their rules mainly with fines for clubs in UEFA competitions , the problem with the PL is they have a different set of rules which are made by the clubs themselves and they failed to ban selling assets to themselves.
The case of Chelsea/Villa and the hotel/women's sale which breaches UEFA rules was supposed to be looked into by UEFA have to see what they do.

The first rule of being a bully is that you only attack those you know to be weak; you don't go after someone you think might be able to defend themselves and risk being publicly shown up. The "rules" football clubs are meant to adhere to are no doubt written accordingly.

I thought the punishments would be you miss out on the Uefa competition you qualified for?
If you look back at previous punishments by UEFA it's usually a fine , that's all I was expecting. In recent years AC Milan and Juve have been banned and before that Besiktas and Fenerbache , I assume their breaches must have been more serious . Clubs that have been fined include Roma , Inter, PSG , Barca, it must depend on how serious UEFA think the breach of rules is .
According to the BBC report both Chelsea/Villa need to show a profit on transfer dealings this summer so there could be more to come in the way of punishment .
The fine on Villa is smaller but I think with their ridiculous wage/revenue ratio there could be some interesting goings on, have to see how they cope with this.

I always feel that UEFA are being careful to make sure they don't overstep the mark at the expense of their own empowerment and lifestyle. What is clear that over time they have given themselves more and more decision rights. An example is negotiating TV deals and then deciding how the fund is allocated. UEFA can currently take that money, give themselves a £200k salary and build a football academy in Albania. As the actual product, the clubs don't have the right to question why some of the money is not coming back to them and hence we get concepts like the super league forming. Even with that UEFA were told unequivocally that they didn't have the right to punish clubs for engaging in the conversation. UEFA thought they could just flex their muscles.

So when it comes down to FFP/PSR, I think UEFA are incredibly wary that if they flex their muscles too much then the most powerful clubs will chase them again on the other stuff. It's a finally balance model that could break at any time. They don't want to be inspected themselves.

Is it not a build up to a ban?
You get a few fines that increase if it continues and leads to a ban if you keep breaking the rules?
