Changed my Eagles to ACDC. You're right about the lack of big US bands. Genesis is an odd choice though.
Although their best work was undoubtedly late 80's early 90's, U2 are quite comfortably the biggest active band in the world right now. Coldplay and Foo Fighters would be up there. I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan, and they have a massive fan base and sell out concerts worldwide, but they dont have the current commercial appeal of those 3.
I think the current music scene is too hipster, indie such that any band with a charismatic lead singer (a prerequisite for a super group) is not seen as cool by the kids.
