So the Ekitike one on Romero that was allowed to stand was ok, but the Kolo one on Gabriel wasn't. We have the prejudice against us summed up quite nicely in that video.
(and Bentancur)All our press resistent players are out (i'm talking Maddison, Kulusevski, Kudus).
I'll preface this by saying that I think the Romero one was a foul and said it at the time. I also think the Muani one is.So the Ekitike one on Romero that was allowed to stand was ok, but the Kolo one on Gabriel wasn't. We have the prejudice against us summed up quite nicely in that video.
I don't think Muani pushed Gabriel. Sure, he put his hands on his back but there was no push there. I think Ekitike may have given Romero a very slight push but had got up above him and the goal standing was probably right. Whatever one thinks about whether or not these should be goals or fouls surely we all agree that whatever the decision, it has to be consistent. They are either both goals or both fouls.I'll preface this by saying that I think the Romero one was a foul and said it at the time. I also think the Muani one is.
I guess the difference is that Ekitike "foul" was committed while making a genuine leap to get the ball so you could make the argument that it's two lads going for the ball and one has just been too strong for the other. Muani isn't trying to challenge for the ball, he's just looking to push Gabriel out of the way. Gabriel has made the most of it though. From an optics point of view, I don't agree with the Ekitike decision, but I understand why it wasn't given and Muani's was.
Nobody new got injured?Looking back, did anyone take any small positives from Igor's first game that may be of use in the final stretch of games to come?
The players looked slightly more combative. If he keeps that kind of attitude, Muani could be a difference-maker. Tudor's gameplan looks better and less negative than Frank's.Looking back, did anyone take any small positives from Igor's first game that may be of use in the final stretch of games to come?

The Gabriel/Muani one? Yeah I think I would. I'd be strongly claiming it.If it was the other way around, would you have expected a penalty?
That would be soft as brick. The Gabriel/Muani one? Yeah I think I would. I'd be strongly claiming it.
Maybe but, to be fair, how often do you hear "there was contact so that's a pen". If that is the barometer of what a foul is, Muani's is definitely a foul - he's put his hands on Gabriel to gain an advantage. That would be soft as brick.
I think I hate modern football.
