*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham FC ***

Also we are a big club! We are one of the most profitable clubs in the world, have a massive worldwide fanbase, attractive to sponsors have one of the best, if not the best stadium and training facilities in the world. Our revenue is in the top 10 in world football. With all of that a minimum we supporters should expect is at least a top 6 finish and european football every season. I am not entitled enough to think we are actually going to win the title every year, but we should be competing to sign top players against the likes of City Man U Arsenal and Liverpool to name a few.
City sign Semenyo and look like getting Guehi, as their board can see they need strengthening, who are getting? An unknown 18 year old left back from Brazil to join all our other " up and coming" youngsters. I know you cant magic quality players out of thin air, but we should at least be trying to bring in these type of players. Like it or not but we need to up our wage structure to compete at the top level. Or just resign ourselves to being a 10th to 15th level club

We keep up with this strategy we will be in the championship playing QPR

The quality in the ManUtd-squad was beaten by ours in Spain.

It is a pretty easy logical equation to be had here:
Either our squad is the quality of the 17th place finish we got last year, and Frank should be judged on the basis of improving upon that. If so, he is in deep, deep trouble, as we have not improved measurably on any given metric that matters much. Not to mention, if we won the Europa League with a 17th-place-quality squad, we'd be insane to sack Ange. The man would obviously have a magic touch and be a miracle man if that was the case.

Or, we last year had a squad with enough quality to compete in the Europa League, but were way down in our league form due to a number of factors, including (but not limited to) injuries, the coaches initial inflexibilty and inability to make neccessary adjustments.
If so, we could be insane to sack Ange, but circumstances could justify it. Specially if a review indicated that the injuries were inflicted by training style, or similar. In this scenario, Frank should be judged on the basis of improving upon that. If so, he is in deep, deep trouble, as we have not improved measurably on any given metric that matters much.

Mate, the media has been harping for months that Amorim can't do anymore with that squad, it's just a brick team (Sound familiar?) and they would need a whole new backline and whole new midfield to even compete .. funny that
If you watch the United squad with your own eyes is that what you actually believed? They are moments FC and have been for years. Last season was the only year when that went a little off but their individual match winning qualities have always been there.

Mate, United has all kinds of problems, I totally agree with your moments comment, when they give a brick (not very often) they turn up.

But the reality is everyone has been giving Amorim a bye because the squad was brick, midfield non existent, back line crap, and yet Carrick gets the best performance of the season (words of a United supporter I know) in a matter of days.

Who knows? Maybe someone managing to get at the end of it and making it into a shot.
We are dire
1000% agree. But the setup of a solo CF who is not an aerial threat makes this strategy even less of an attacking threat.

Play to your strengths, and getting on the end of crosses is not ours.

He was the wrong man. Saying that who was the correct man.

Clubs got lots of problems. A new man might get a bounce but this squad needs some surgery.

We have some pony in it. To many passengers. Bergvail , Gray , Tel , Odebert all young may or may not come good. I’ve not seen anything to suggest they’ll be anything but middling prem players at best.

Up until his injury starting Richy for me is a massive hint at where we are. Bang average player we over payed for.
We over rate our players. No stars in this side not one. Just a load of ok players. Been saying this on here for a few years.

The buck does not stop at just Frank. It’s years of poor leadership at the club.

Best post on this thread. By a mile.

West Ham are 7 points behind us. We have Burnley away (after a point at LFC), Emirates Marketing Project home, United away, Newcash home, Goons home.
We would normally expect three points at Turf Moor. Hmmm. Emirates Marketing Project home? Hmmmm. United away? Bad time to be playing a side who are now in CL contention after a derby win. Newcash? Hmmm. The Goons? Not a chance.
I cannot see where the next points are coming from. Maybe draws against Burnley and Saudi Sportswashing Machine at this rate? Still, keep calm and carry on en?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any potential new manager coming in might take a look at those fixtures and decide to bide their time. We’ve had an easy run recently on paper and been rubbish. Getting what we deserve now.

Lots of things I could moan about from today's brick show, but a special mention to the absolute macarons in the South stand. Do us all a favour and give up your tickets so people who might actually support the team can go.

I think I've not seen the same media pieces as you to be honest because for the most part I've seen criticism of his 3 at the back system being too defensive (I agree) and him not getting the same performances and results that the previous coaches were able to get. I don't think I've seen the blame mainly placed on the players versus Amorin.

Didn’t we beat City early on under Nuno?

Who? They were laying into him for not being flexible from what I saw

Even more so when he said the reason he didn't was because they were telling him to!
