I think @Robspur12 might have alluded to some of this whilst I've been at work today. Thoughts here that if we are selecting Davies for his aerial presence then we're in a whole heap of trouble. The challenge I've had with 5'11" Davies at centre half is everyone wants to applaud him for being a great egg and jumping with the "big man" or doing his best to keep up with the "speedster" whereas they don't want to call him out as losing those headers and foot races. They would happily call out our other centre halves though, as I did myself last weekend. It's also barely mentioned when Ben is horribly out of position but always mentioned when he reads the game and intercepts. I've actually seen a healthy measure of both with him over the years.

If we get to a stage where we are leaving out specialist centre halves like Danso and Senesi and picking Davies then he'll need to be as accountable as the rest. He'll need to be proving guys like me wrong and playing at a higher level than we've seen him play at centre half. I'd love him to prove me wrong as he is such a great guy within our club.

I think this all might be hypothetical as I don't believe his manager will put his body through 2 games in a week anyway.

When Porro and Savio came on, they looked like they had played together for a while. Gray (no dig at an 18 yar old), is not even close.

I suspect Porro, Savio, Tonali are added to yesterday's starting lineup, Marmoush is highly likely to be a sub.

It's simple.
If you like what RDZ and the club are building, then reciprocate with faith and belief. Because without OUR belief flowing from the stands and the streets, then it will be so much harder for anything to happen.

I firmly believe that under RDZ we will never see as lack-lustre an effort as we saw last weekend, and I actually believe it could be a result which sets us on a great course quicker than we might've imagined, if only because we know EXACTLY what we have to do to become what we want to be.

I don't expect this match against the Geordies to be easy. It's never a straight-forward fixture, that's for sure. However, I believe.
I believe we are making the right steps.
I believe we are looking to play football the right way.
I believe we are getting the players back healthier -and signing ones who improve us.
And I believe we will see the benefits of all this in the coming weeks...but that has to start here. In this match.
And WE have to believe.

Let's make our home a fortress.
And let's enjoy this new era, with perhaps a little more measure (in my case anyway) but with no less optimism and certainly full of belief...
