I don't either, was pleased to see him come on, but surprised he went to FB.

He can't be any worse than the Belgians. There was a sequence in the first half where they lost one each, then van Hecke challenged Kinsky for the third. Keystone cops. Sometimes they don't even try and contest.

I just want to re-iterate how good I thought we were for the first 20 minutes. You may laugh at that, but I'm thinking, if we're able to play 20 minutes like that, then why won't we be able to play close to a full game like that at some point? I think we will.

For those first 20 minutes all of our boys were pinging balls around at will, winning every second ball, constantly running into space for one another - our midfield trio in particular made a very effective triangle thing up the pitch with Van Hecke finding them from deep and them flicking and passing through one another - it was a joy to watch. Of course, we lacked the goals. Fernandes should've shot a bit earlier twice, and should've scored with at least one of them. Van Hecke came close with a shot at the far post. VdV and Hecke ran down and won every Everton attempt at an attack. We basically just dominated them completely, and I have to say I was sat there thinking "yes! this is what Tottenham is all about" - apart from not scoring, of course.

We will get there. I just hope the negativity won't become too deafening from our fans in the meantime.

I remember those games last season and it wasn't pretty. We fought for our lives but we got scrappy goals from set pieces and sheer force of will rather than neat and tidy or opening up the opposition. That's why I was vehemently against the 7 games extrapolated argument because it was obvious the results weren't sustainable.

The biggest reason for that was always going to be because RDZ football is different to the way we needed to play those last 7 matches.
Someone here posted a while back that his early record at Brighton was very poor too, but once it dropped in, it clicked. I agree we deserved the points at Forest, and in terms of possession, deserved them today (in a sense)...for what RDZ wants I think we need supreme elite talent. i hope he has it.

Think it might be noise from outside the club that will set the negative tone. Especially if we don’t score next week and go into a 3 week break with no goals in 5
 
The only thing worse that Spurs’ attack today was the ludicrous post match gridlock. Took 90 mins to move about 300 yards.

Yet another limp dingdong of a performance. Yes there were moments. However, the lack of quality and decent decision making in key moments is very very worrying. With the exception of Bergvall’s late shot (and I’m not sure if it was going in anyway; hard to tell from my seat) I don’t think we troubled Pickford at all. Over 6 hours without a goal is beyond embarrassing. I’d say it’s of extreme concern. I’m already looking for three poor teams to finish below us and the one that I’d have said was nailed on already has quite a few points.

Another wasted £150. Another wasted weekend! Let’s do it all again next Saturday.

No doubt, but if we can somehow muster up a kind of siege mentality amongst our own, we'll be fine. It's when the booing starts that we're on a slippery slope.

We’ll see. RDZ didn’t really have a goalscorer at Brighton did he? We don’t have Kane and Son anymore but I do think we’ve enough talented lads up top to get us our share of goals.
 
I thought we were by far the better side. It just needs some time.
The hype around the early signings is hampering us, we did well this window, but we are still at least two windows away from where we want to be.
It was never all going to be solved this summer.
Patience.

Dunno Steff. RDZ has had a very good career to date and hasn’t had supreme elite talent anywhere he’s been. Guess it depends on what your expectations are but we haven’t hired a Mourinho or Conte here. RDZ has a recent record of doing very well, playing attractive football with squads much weaker than ours.

He looked brick because that's what he is, had one good season in the PL and has never done anything of note at multiple clubs. We should be looking to upgrade him ASAP, was obvious striker was an issue going into the season and we did nothing about it (I don't count Marmoush as a no 9).

You might be right about needing supreme talent, I kind of agree this style needs that as I thought similarly with Ange but I would like to see it tried for a period of time at the least with an actual 10. Ideally Simons or Kulu (might be my bias, but I don't think Maddison is truly suited), the wings set up properly. For me that would be Savio on the left and Kudus on the right and a midfield duo pulled from the three options of Fernandes, Tonali and Bentancur.

If I see all of that and it still looks impotent then I'd start to worry we don't have the correct ingredients to make it work.
