***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Burnlio, Sat Jan 24th, 3pm***

He is. I would rather Tel

World class defenders can go through a game without mistakes. That Romero is not. But it looks like he thinks he is.

On Odobert, I am pretty impressed with him. He makes mistakes, not playing in Spence early in the opening minutes and other sloppy passes, but he has also played some nice jinks to get free, and got a shot off. Maybe our best attacker? Not saying much, but we are where we are.

You may be right. I enjoy watching Tel when he plays. He’s only 19 and has a huge potential, in my opinion, but needs to play. He’s barely played for us, but there are compilations of his Bayern days where you can more clearly see what he’s all about. Inferior league and all that, but he’s 19.

I remember watching a few scouting videos before we signed him and they weren't very impressive tbh. He would cut in and shoot to some degree of success but his all round play needed heavy work, and as you say that was with playing in an inferior league.

It's not a lack of talent that is Spence's issue. He doesn't play at full intensity and him not being a leftie is a massive disadvantage. It is as much the shapes he makes on the pitch that is the problem. A leftie would just drive things differently.
By no means do I think Spence is a long term answer for us there, I don't think anyone is surprised to hear me say I really don't rate any of our LWF options. From what i've seen so far, Spence is just as credible an option as Tel imo.

Definite improvement in that half, apart from us switching off and being punished AGAIN. It's so infuriating. We should've been two or three goals up from our chances. For the most part we also controlled them well. Why fudgelng switch off AGAIN??!

Spence
I think we've said this over and over. We would be a different proposition if we had a balanced left and right attacking abilities.

Once again we have good players playing on their wrong feet and no real driving force down the left.

Where do we find a prime Bale or Lennon?
Spence on the right will be much better unless TF insists on always passing for Porro to cross

Spence is more direct and can defend too.

Only if he has the right head on. His application in games is all over the place.

Interestingly, he seems to have a 1st half motivation issue. I fully expect him to get stronger as the game goes on though. Most of his plaudits seem to come in 2nd halves.

I always want for all of our players to succeed and probably wear my rose tinted glasses for too long. So I’m biased! You probably have a more realistic assessment. I just like the guy, and enjoy watching him play.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here, but their goal came form our possession high right. We passed it back and back and back. Then Vicario and Romero combined to kick it out and gave them possession. Goal came in that phase. So annoying.

Yeah, he's a 25 year old that should be heading into his prime. He's done way more hard yards at this stage of his career. Tel is raw.

I could really give Spence a kick up the backside and explain what it means to bleed Spurs. That's my problem with him.

My main beef is that aside for those moves he contributes little in off the ball running to anticipate forward passes, and has little urgency to press immediately when the ball is lost. He is very static and looks relatively underworked compared to biss, gallagher, Spence and solanke. Simons is a poor passer indeed, but his grafting and ball willing ability makes him very useful for now.
