*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton & Hove Albion FC ***

A point despite a ref hellbent on us losing, but all in all a fair result. We looked really good for periods, especially when Simons came on. Wish we had put on Tel instead of Johnson, not much of a counter attacking game, where I think he seems to thrive.

First half was a bit like watching us last year. Some good eye catching play and looked as frail as a 90 year old.

Second half we were excellent. Bossed that game and were fairly solid for a team chasing the game. Udogie and Kudus were very very good. Simons is a player.

Fair play to Frank. Whatever he did at HT, it worked brilliantly. Decent point.

very frustrating

fouls against before both goals, but the defending for both, and at other times, was utter garbage, far to easy for them to turn us around and gain easy yards

So for me a positive game. We generally played well although lacking some obvious quality. That was addressed massively with Xavi coming on and playing his best position for us. Udogie had a great game back to actually playing as a FB and not inverting. Suits his attributes best and helps our team shape and balance having someone able to go on the outside. Romero was also very good I thought, handled lots of the counters well and never let them overwhelm us. Despite conceding 2 a good game from him.

Odobert poor, just didn't do enough to get involved in the match.

Richy poor, just being Richy. Falling over, poor weight on passes, no power in shots etc. Frustrating guy to watch.

Vicario dogbrick for their second goal.

Bergvall was a mixed ball, lots of endeavour and drive, still quite naive at times especially when on the ball in the deeper positions.

Johnson absolute rubbish when he came on. Our attack down the left completely fizzled to nothing as he gave the ball away touch after touch.

I do feel like if we start games with Xavi central and Udogie out left our general shape and team play will look so much more coherent. Still massively lacking anything decent in the left attacking space but it is what it is until January.

Frustrating at times, positive at others. This manager’s 7th game let’s not forget. Every team in the league will have to fight to get anything at their ground this season. Good to see us comeback from 2 goals down, never good to see us losing by 2 but to see the team can react to it rather than give up is promising

Tel, Johnson and sadly Odobert is much of a muchness. None of them is cutting the mustard currently or even look close to being a player we need in that regard. We play Tel, we probably get a similar performance ask for Odobert or Johnson. Play Johnson and we will ask for the other two. The quality just isn't there.

Didn't think we had it in us to comeback considering how we usually get pumped against Brighton.

That's a good point, good second half performance. Xavi needs to start centrally and we'll create a lot more.
He will definitely go that way in games against weaker oppo or when we need a goal. The question is who misses out in midfield. Nice problem to have.
