OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford FC ***

Where is the intent to get them the ball?
How do we conspire to give them chances?

Kudus wants to take on the world, Odobert isn't one for starting but needs must, but ive got memories of being a newborn kid that are stronger than him on the ball.

Yes the tactics could be more proactive 100% but if I had Richy, Tell, KM and Odobert as my great hopes as a manager going forward, man alive I would be praying for food poisoning for the week off

Richy not playing the ball to get us 1 v 1 near the end, I wanted to chuck my head in my george foreman grill

I lost count of the amount of times our midfield players misplaced simple passes and through balls that would have released our forwards (although, granted, Richarlison or Muani would probably have tripped over the ball).

Because we have NO creativity or pattern of attacking play beyond 'shove it wide'. You're asking Palhinha to be Glenn Hoddle.

Did you notice who was on the bench for us? We're so thin in attack. Add in fresh legs of Solanke, Maddison, and Kulu and you think that this sytle won't work for us?
It won’t. Certainly not against good sides.

You get those three in, you’re relying on moments of brilliance from them if we play the same way. Solanke might be a help in terms of making the ball stick but if there is no one supporting him, it’ll be limited.

Personnel will improve the situation but it won’t get us to where we want to go. This sort of football can’t work for a team looking for top 6.

Somebody needs to tell mr manager that we are a top 6 club and finishing outside of that is considered failure. Failure which leads to him getting sacked. Because if nobody tells him that, he might consider that a draw away at Brentford, while we are 13th, is a good result. The worst of the other top 6 clubs, is United in 6th. Chelsea just sacked their manager for being 5th, while having won the club world cup a few months ago.

Having taken off our best creative attacking player 20 mins earlier in a not-even like for like sub. Please. You'll have to do better than tell he showed intent to win that game; steal it maybe.
I have to question how well you watched the game. Did you see Odobert second half? Not able to run after passes. He was done. Great first half.

Then we had Muani, Tel, Richi and Kudus on.....of course he fuking had intent to win it. Honestly.
Tell me who would make a difference in this horrific style and setup? You can't say Harry Kane 😉
Presumably we are about to replace Johnson. And we have Madder, Kulu and Solanke to come back. Hmmm.
Please stop using last season as some sort of mitigation for this rubbish: unless we really want to perpetuate that conversation???

The rubbish is from some 'fans' sadly.

We desperately need someone who can controll and pass from midfield. We have no controll of the games at all. Hoofing it to Kudus and hoping he can controll it while fighting three oposition players isn’t working.

Fingers crossed don Paratici can persuade Palace to let us have Wharton now we’ve given them BJ!!

0-0 away to Brentford, 20 minutes ish to go. Our goalie gets booked for time wasting. It's who we are [whatever the Danish equivalent of "mate" is]

Always wondered what a game between that peak Guardiola Barcelona side would be like if they could play against themselves. Never found out. Never wondered what Brentford would look like playing against themselves, but this I now know.

On a more serious note... A point away from home. Tough place to go. We have a lot of attacking players missing. This game on isolation is not an issue. But getting real tired of us being this boring.

I'd rather we played more expansive football and won.

I am asking a simple either or question. Would you prefer we played expansive football and lost? Or ground out a draw, and tried to win it with our limited forwards?

There has to be some realism. We aren't going to play expansive football away at a team that has lost just once at home, and get anything but sharfted.

He doesn't need to get top 6 this season, he needs to show progress, a playing style, and some sort of pattern in attack. I'd say he's failed on all three so far.

I'll pick this up in detail later. Kudus is our only double-teamed outlet and often isolated. Odobert looked fine to me today. Frank has ruined Tel this season (it is clear he doesn't want him) he puts Muani left instead of trying 4-4-2...these are not amazing players but they are a hell of a lot better than we're seeing.

fudge it.
Sell half of them, sell Romero, buy Collins, give Toney 500k a week...

I think most people wanted us to really try to dominate the game and try to win (regardless of result), we didn't.

That match, like so many this season, was fudging brick. Mitigate it all you want.

Not a bad result. However, I’m sure there were a lot of times we won the second ball around 30 yards out with an easy pass to someone unmarked (who would then have a good chance of playing someone in)…and… we play it backwards.

Must have counted at least 5 times this happened. Is it a tactic? We’ve just won the ball, they are out of position, but no intent to play forward first time. So unusual and seems to be the opposite of what any other team in the history of football would do.

Richi could have put the ball in the net a couple of times. Kept it tight at the back, and created the better openings (according to XG too).

We need to get our home form going.

If you watch that game in detail, there were lots of positives.

Of course our attack is massively underpowered missing 3 big players and presumably signing a another.

A top 6 club with hardly any top 6 players?

Come on Steff, what's more likely, 22 players are all brick or the manager is killing the team?
