***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur v Bodø/Glimt*** Europa League Semi-Final Second-Leg Thursday May 8th, KO 8pm

Work finished late so I missed the 1st half. I've said about feeling a disconnection this season so to become ecstatic all of a sudden when the going is good is a bit flimflam, so I think I'm being a tad guarded.

That said, hugging / high giving random Spurs fans in the pub for Dom and Porro's goal felt nice after the season as a whole. What a perplexing situation, and whilst I just hope we give a good account of ourselves against United, I want us to win Kevin Keegan levels. Oh the inevitable heartbreak if we go out with a whimper...

Richy to score a late winner in the final using his arse, cementing his legendary status, causing outcry from the naysayers as he gets a statue at the stadium before Kane does.

They'll be an outcry from me if anyone gets a statue at the stadium before Bill Nicholson.

Should we be a little worried about United? Seemed to have picked up a bit of form in this competition and have comfortably beaten opposition much better than the one we faced last night?

Can a mod please I’ve all the posts about Romero to his thread please? This is not the time nor place

I was reading about 1984
I did not know Anderlecht bribed their way past Forest
Would have been another all English final
Of course

Yes we should. I think it will be a tight game but they have that one world class performer in Fernandes (odious little rat that he is) who has been inspirational for them throughout. We don't have that standout match winner in the team. He will need to be shut down. Would Ange detail someone to man mark him?

No like every other team in this competition they are pig farmers, Mr Wenger told me.

My only fear about United is that their name may be on the trophy. They should have been out to Lyon big time and got away with it in the most incredible way (3 goals in 11 minutes, soft penalty, blatant push for the winner). Then again, I thought our name was on the Cup in 1995 and maybe even the CL in 2019 and we flopped on the big occasion.

Fernandes is also dangerous but there is little else to fear in their squad. We are a better team than them.

I would love Richy to be this generation's Tony Parks. Sonny probably deserves to be, but you just feel Richy cares more than anyone else.

But no statues, they are the preserve of dictators, villains and nonces.

Seems to me like a fairly close game that could go either way. Both teams are capable of being rather good and rather brick. One off game like this will probably mostly be decided on some fine margins and individual moments.

It's a coin flip. Is that a reason to be worried, I don't know.

I'm concerned that Mason Mount appears, plays well, scores, and then goes off injured to leave them in the summer having done pretty much his only noteworthy Man Utd thing against us in the final.

We should be guarded and concerned about united, they are like us relying on the Europa League to get into UCL and have done really well

Except, we have shown we are better than them this season and inrecent seasons, all with bruno in the side. We have players with Belief, Focus and a Drive to beat anyone (i was at the lane when we beat liverpool 1-0 with kinsky in goal) we have beaten Emirates Marketing Project and villa and we have shown tactical nous and pragmatism in Europe. We know their strengths and weaknesses and they arent miles above us, if anything we are abive them. We can Totally do this. And we will

COYMFS !!!

Let's hope Onana gives a good account of himself

They don't like it against physical teams that press them, which they don't really meet in Europe. We should be able to press them and physically dominate the midfield, especially if Eriksen and Casemiro are in there. But in a one off game anything can happen.

No such thing as 'name is on the cup' except in hindsight.

They have been jammy so far, perhaps their luck runs out now?

I'm good with that.

The other school of thought is that one of our younger players like Tel, Udogie, Sarr or Gray makes history and it is the start of something even bigger than you get from an older player. A next generation of winners.

There is another factor here and that is UEFA and the referees. There will be the normal obsession with keeping 22 players on the pitch for a showpiece final and blatant yellows won't be given. Bruno Fernandez will push every button going and get away with it. It won't be like the league game where he got his marching orders after several seasons of getting away with it.

It will be more like the FA Cup semi-final against Jose's Utd where Antonio Valencia should have left the field of play in the first half. We should have strolled that semi-final and were more than good enough under Poch to pick up the FA Cup that season. I've never forgiven Antony Taylor for sheer incompetence.

Spurs will need to be streetwise in the final.

Having Utd in the final isn't ideal, with them being a PL team. When I think back to the last 3 or 4 games, even at full tilt Spurs can still unlock teams. So can Utd. It goes with the territory of being a PL team and playing at that level.

Out biggest advantage is that we have the football gods on our side.
