*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Bournemouth ***

Interesting. Is Odebert more physical than Johnson?
Certainly better 1:1 vs a defender in terms of being able to come up with a trick to get past someone from a standing start.

But i'd never thought of him as being more physical?

It's a fair question/point, and perhaps the word I'm looking for is dynamic? I think with Brennan you need to hit him early and into the space behind the defence. I suppose there is certainly a thought that if Bournemouth are aggressive then we can hit them behind in which case Brennan would be useful. Having said that, I think this is a game where I'd like both my wide players to be able to receive the ball, hold and run at defenders...but your point is interesting.

Ok i see what you mean. It would certainly help if we can give our defence some relief by passing to someone further forward who can hold things up a bit.
Thing is, Johnson is on fire in terms of goals, do you dampen that when he's come through a game against possibly the pressers who have more tools to punish you if you can't handle it than most?
Then again, it was away and there wasn't the onus on US to attack, keep possession etc. In fact, the way we made City defend deep with men behind the ball, was tantamount to how fantastic Frank set us up. Quite unbelievable actually the more i think about it. I think i've only seen Poch, Klopp and maybe Enrique make a Pep team do that.

Anyway, it will be fascinating to see what Frank opts for.

Vicario
Porro Romero Van Der Ven Spence
Bentancur Palhinha
Sarr
Kudus Richarlison Johnson

So basically, the same team that started vs Emirates Marketing Project.

I think it will be very tight as Bournemoth are physical, no mugs and will likely not give us much space in behind.

I'm going for a last-minute winner from Johnson, 1-0

COYS

Edit - i will now add an extra player to make it 11-a-side at the start, haha!

Might be an idea to start with 11 players.

Throw Sarr in there

Looking forward to the match! My first game at the new stadium and my son's first Tottenham match ever. Today we'll see if Tottenham is a better version of themselves and doesn't squander the good performance against City away.

Hoping for a new player presentation before the match.

You will have an amazing day - enjoy!

Straightforward 3-0 win.

Nice early goal like the Burnley game would be handy.
I know Ange started of well in his first season but somehow I just have more confidence in Frank to set us up for the different problems we are going to face against each team and as mentioned by a couple of players in interviews he wants a clean sheet in each game . Don't expect many changes to last weeks team , no need for rotation yet.

My son's first game was also Spurs v Bournemouth, back when they were truly awful under Eddie Howe. Amazing the respect Howe got, they were trash.

We pumped them 4-0 so, so easily with goals from Dembele, Son, Kane and even Janssen scored. They had one weak shot on target. It was our 7th win on the spin as we surged up the table, chasing the CHEATS who have CHEATED us out of many trophies over the last 20 years.

The best bit was jeering Jack Wheelchair Wheelchair as he trudged off the pitch, injured. He injured himself trying to tackle Kane, according to this:

It was one of the last games played at WHL in April 2017

Would others look to sign a backup striker? I’m assuming the club don’t think Dane is where he needs to be and Lankshear has already been loaned. Richy and Solanke are both more than capable of getting injured so do we need to find ourselves a backup? Or does playing one main central striker leave us overstocked if we did it?

Fotmob says Bournemouth will line up like:

........................Evanilson
Semenyo Tavernier Scott Brooks
.........................Adams
Truffert ...Senesi ....Diakite ...Smith
.........................Petrovic

with Kluivert on the bench. And Ben Doak, who will probably score because I was laughing at his name the other day (Bend oak is a stupid name, sorry).

Obviously they lost Kerkes Zabarnyi Huijsen from last season's defence.

Interesting to see Scott and Brooks, see how much they have improved.
Semenyo and Evanilson have real class, hopefully we can keep the ball away from them and do a professional job on these.

Dom is a huge miss in general, we can never expect Richie to play 2 games per week, so we really need Dom to get that sorted.
If I can try to spin this negative as a positive, it might mean we pay the few extra millions to get an attacking player (Savinho) over the line just in case Dom has an injury plagued season.

Rather worrying it is the same issue he had all summer?
