*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur FC vs Manchester United ***

Saw the highlights.
Bentancur silly for doing what he did but it wasn't a proper 'butt' but that's a no-no in football so red card. Saw Gabriel do exactly the same v City yet wasn't sent off.

The team patterns out of the back and into midfield are good. We still have a CB or two that will lose us a goal. So by playing ball playing center backs only we need to be scoring more than them. Our midfield is really lacking someone who can score. Madders needs to start next week. He has had enough weeks now to get up to a level of fitness. Then we have him for long range shots and free kicks as well.

Solanke was bought to play in Ange's system. He was not going to be relied upon to score. He was going to press and let the wide forwards get all the goals. He was a poacher for Bournemouth so I am not sure what he is being instructed to do, but simple as this he is getting chances and not even hitting the target. Hopefully the goal will help his confidence as we have nobody to replace him at all.

We need a powerful runner. Someone who can get in behind and pull defences about. Or someone show can clinically finish. We have neither in Solanke.

This slow slow approach with our injured players is annoying me now. I see why they are doing it but we are 6 games into the season. We need to start getting some wins on the board now.

Please start Maddison next game. Kudus to play for the 90 if he is playing well. Same with Udogie.

We need to create way more chances so the averages will pay off. And we need to get a GHod damn lead.

I think Andy was slightly better.

They just showed Solanke’s annual PL goalscoring figures on MOTD. Christ on a bike, how we ever thought it was a good idea to spend £60 million on this guy…
A lot in here were creaming themselves. Flavour of the day. I said at the time it's one of the most underwhelming signings in a long time.

This is yet another game where referees are changing history. Think about the scenario where Attwell had given Shaw a first half yellow when he deserved one along with 3 or 4 of his team mates. That is, if you apply the laws of the game....and fairly as Bergval may have also had one. Then ask yourself whether Shaw reacts like that if he's already on a yellow. If he does, then it's 10 vs 10 as he got booked. If he doesn't then we remain with 11.

Then you look at Martinez vs Gallagher. Our player takes an early booking and spend most of that match on the tight rope. He has to be subbed because of it later in the game. Martinez doesn't get booked for a clear bookable offence and then finally gets booked later in the match. Based on his play during the match there is no way he should be on the pitch at the end. He could have had 3 or 4 yellows.....if you're applying the laws.

So the current refereeing is about keeping players on the pitch for entertainment value. When will someone realise that all that nonsense that happened in the second half is because referees aren't issuing yellows when they should. The reason the game ended up with less than 22 players was because of the refereeing as much as anything else.

I'd happily sit in a room with both Webb and Attwell live on TV and rewatch that game with them. I would make them get the rule book and prove to me why they are cheating in their jobs. How Spurs haven't put in a major complaint by now is beyond me. They are complete idiots. The Utd bias yesterday was in full force from Attwell. He has absolutely nowhere to hide.

The amount of people that prefer solanke to Richy is incredible. He doesn't even have a better goalscoring record than Richy. Richy would at least fight. But we should have just kept Lankshear and see what he could do.

I thought there were some signs in the game to suggest we are begining to gell as a team. Despite what some fans seem to think we are a work in progress and it was always going to take time. COYS.
There are always macarons everywhere and our fan base have them too. However, I will say that I’ve been impressed with the lack of panicking I’ve seen amongst our fan base, by and large, through the international break. Maybe I wasn’t looking where the bedwetters frequent but the vast majority of Spurs fans were reasonable about where we currently are as a club.

We will be fine this season under RdZ with the possibility of building something exciting. I’m still not sure what the common expectation is for this season though.

Personally, I’ll be okay with mid table if we get a bit of momentum in the second half of the season.

He lacking confidence. Ben in and out with injuries. But as I said in his thread, he didn't hide and got his reward. Hopefully that can kick start him into some form. It's how it goes with strikers. We need to bring in another 9 in January too.
That sounds dangerously like support and understanding for Solanke rather than merciless criticism.
It's the sort of talk that could get you in trouble around here.

Never threatened to score??? Sorry, but you've seen the game totally different to me then. Solanke alone could've easily had a hat-trick.
Ok maybe threaten but not able to score, is a better sentence!!😀
Its my concern too. As unless those front 4 can suddenly start scoring (despite the past goal tally numbers in past seasons) I worry as well

Shaw was 100 % a red too to be fair.
I dont understand how the person who is instigating the foul. Stays on pitch.
Rice runs over and kicks someone a few wks back.
Bruno stamps on foden twice.
Shaw runs over and pushes someone and also leans head in and yet stays on pitch.
Gabriel heads Haaland harder and gets away with it

Its really not on. But hey its us so its fine

Utd are brick though. And its just a little annoying we couldn't finish them off

Very annoying.
Our finishing has been poor, but we've also had little luck in front of goal.
Bounces and ricochets never seem to go out way, even a couple of times yesterday it fell perfectly for utd to clear rather than for us.
Until the goal, perhaps that's the turning point, maybe lady luck has decided we've paid our penance.

I doubt it

What he say?

I like Solanke but he was fudging dreadful today. He’s got to be making the ball stick and be horrible for defenders to play against and be a fudging presence with the size of him. Would have fancied my chances marking him today. He has so much more ability than he showed.
3 good chances to score (scoring 1 of the 3) and should’ve had an assist for Gallagher as well. That’s typically good output for a CF
