OMT Spurs vs Geordies 7.30 Tuesday 10th Feb

They were better than us at just about everything in the first half. They absolutely dominated. Could easily have scored more than the one they did score. Obviously difficult to know how much of that was them being good at stuff or us being bad at stuff. But they were all kinds of better than us at least, at just about everything. It didn't look like two teams struggling for form and with injuries. It looked like one team being completely outclassed by the other.

And, again, we just couldn't attack, couldn't progress the ball, couldn't sustain possession. That's not all on a Saudi Sportswashing Machine team being good at defending imo. We've seen that a lot this season.

When we got at them in the second half we could see that they too were vulnerable defensively.

They repelled us well in the first half and dominated possession. Then got back in a deep low block making it hard to penetrate them. They had so many corners and pressure and couldn't convert. Personally don't think they were very good in attack.

It's clear we're never winning another league game under Frank. He's doubling down on his very poor tactical plan, a sort of Wish version of Mourinho. It's slightly less negative when we play with a back three but ever since he took over, he made George Graham's team look attractive compared to what he's served up this season. It's just one horrible performance after the other.

It would be suicidal to throw a new manager to the wolves by appointing him for the Arsenal game so I suppose we're going to keep on losing until the NLD and then someone else will have to find a way to sort out this mess.

The only thing I'd say in Frank's favour is that we were playing with zero momentum last season, too. Our play's been slow and pedestrian for a year and a half but, at least, we used to look resilient. Now, we look like we're waiting for the other team to put us out of misery as soon as the whistle goes.

On an individual note, Gray didn't deserve to be on the losing side, I thought, but on the other hand, Spence's positioning has been absolutely abject (at some point, I stopped watching the ball).

We may well lose to Woolwich regardless, but he can’t have that game. There are twelve days before it, a good amount of time for someone to come in today and work with this team, get some spirit and some fight going and go from there.

If we then lose it as we all expect you never know there may be a bit of bottle shown which we can then use to go to the likes of Fulham and the other games we need to win, if we leave it 12 days, let him get us hammered then replace him, we’re soon back to CL games and if nothing else weekly fixtures, the club need to give someone all of these 12 days we have now.

How long did it take Carrick to turn Man Utd around? Four days?

Now, imagine you give the new guy 12 days and it all begins with a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Arsenal. Even a 3-0 defeat is a realistic option and it's certainly not the best way to start your rescue mission, regardless of what happens on the pitch.

It boils down to one question, in my opinion: do you think this squad should be in the top half? If you do, then it makes sense to give a manager 12 days to work and possibly get the results these players deserve during the final stretch. If you don't however (guess which team I am...), you're just looking for someone who will give these players the confidence and bounce they need to avoid a disaster, get a few wins and that's it. Basically, you need someone who will work on the mental aspect of the game and if that's what you're looking for, losing a NLD doesn't fit in with that.

They were better than us in both halves. We had a 15 minute period where we were perhaps the better team, or at least had more posession, but I don't think we created a single chance in that time. As is the typically the way that we played every week under Frank the team do not have a clue how to move the ball up the pitch and create bona-fide chances. Without corners we'd be even more screwed than we are already.

Now that he has finally gone I hope we can get on with bringing in a manager that isn't completely risk adverse and will allow us to actually play some football. We still might go down because we're not giving the new manager long and the players will also likely know he is a temporary appointment but pretty much no matter who we get in I think we have tripled our chances of survival.

Selling Johnson without having a replacment passed their medical, then not bringing back Moore are weak. And its not just after the event in hindsight. Posted the same before the injuries to Kudus and Odobert. We do one thing: play football matches. To leave the first team so short is not a good look.
I've got a horrible feeling that the DoF is just as bad as the (ex) manager.... Perhaps even worse seeing as he picked the (clearly not suited) manager

It was about as bad as I've seen last night.
