I disagree. He was neither strong nor did he at any time try to force something different the defender. Solanke would have given Saliba more to think about, it was too easy for him all game.

He seems to always be falling backwards whenever the ball is played in to him

In Son and injuries were have 49 goals missing from last season.

No way Odebert, Richy and Kudus are replacing that.

Simons its too early to know

This squad sucks badly

Yeah, people seem to have forgotten how much Kulusevski carried our team last season.

Without him plus Son and Maddison no wonder our attack is utterly inept.

Hopefully the likes of Simons, Tel and Odobert will eventually come good but Gibbs-White and Eze clearly would’ve been much better signings for us right now.

And missing Maddison, Kulu (and Solanke).

Son, Maddison and Kulu were the heart of our attack. Not to have any of these 3 is under appreciated.

Where are we? Rebuilding. Developing our defensive foudnation. Developing our midfield play. And we will improve in attack too. But its hard going right now, becuase we lost all of our senior attackers.

Well, It's who we are, mate...

And it is who we've chosen to be.
No, not a "wish we hadn't sacked Ange"-post, just a reflection on how we "competed" in this match.

This was a no-contest, we were hardly third best at anything out there.
And the worst part? I felt -nothing-. NO exitement leading up to the match, no nervousness, no joy, no sadness. Nothing. Flat. The only thing that finally managed to rise a bit of emotion was when Rice did his little stunt on the end there. But that was just a flash, and now all I feel is sadness. Not because we lost. But because I don't care. I've been down this slope before, and I don't like it.

Saliba was all over him and the ref ignored it all game, last 10 mins Richie is actually standing beside the ref and Saliba barges him and ref ignores it.
We never played forward, even if Richie holds it up there's no one to capitalise.

I just don’t think this is true.

We don’t have players that are on Arsenal’s level right now. But we for sure have better players than to turn up and perform like that. Was our only shot on target one from the half way line? To say an attacking performance that bad is down to the quality of the players, is crazy. The players are not that bad. They are almost all top internationals.

I feel bad for Frank in that I don’t think he wanted us to be as defensive. But clearly there is a disconnect. Either the players aren’t carrying out what he wants yet, or he is not capable of getting this group to do what he needs yet. Or maybe his ideal culture is just too different for the make up of this squad and the DNA of the club?

We were extremely bad, and the concern most people offer is that we don’t have any ideas in possession. And frankly I think making out our players are so bad that it simply isn’t possible for them to have any ideas in possession, is an excuse.
You don't play a back 5 with 2CDMs in front and then say he didn't want to be defensive. Every game is 2 CDMs.

I was angry at our approach. Pathetic. I feel your pain.

I used to love his hard work. He doesn't appear to do that anymore. So now not sure what his strengths are. In fairness though not sure why TF brought Muani on and stuck him out on the left rather than Richarlison.
Because I’m the data Richy is effective
Just humans with eyes can see he ain’t

Nobody wants to see that mate, far easier to blame him for everything.

Ah yes, I remember me saying I expect us to play like golden age Barcelona :D Nope, I expect us to be capable of having some attacking patterns of play
If you watch and look at detail, not results and get caught up in it, you can see spring shoots. Areas where Frank is improving things. Our ability to play through midfield for example. In possession we are getting better. It is not making a difference yet. But if you have a critical eye you can see signs.

- not just give it to Kudus, hope he does something and if that doesn't work hope a long throw comes off.

Only a couple of nutters on here expected us to win today, what happened was totally expected - all today does is highlight the problems.
No it doesn't. We saw against PSG Franks tatics can work. It didn't today. We move on.
They are a better side but we didn't lay a glove on them because of the way we setup and the things Frank chooses to focus on.
No, that's just you whinging :)
There are teams with inferior players to us who play better football even though I am very much of the opinion the squad needs plenty of surgery.

Frank is constantly too negative, you're talking as if he lets the shackles off in other games. We have played hardly any decent attacking football all season....
Who is too negative? Frank or you!

We lost Son, Maddison, Kulu, and we are work in progress. Patience. And try not to undermine the coach.

I don't disagree with any of that but whether or not he's a hold up player, he did nothing to get any of our attacks going and didn't really track back. So he was part of the problem at least today.

Our football is so bad I can’t give away tickets for free
It’s grim and it really didn’t need to be
We seem to flip between managers with such adverse styles it’s painful

We. Don't. Have. The. Players.

It happens every time we get a new coach the fan base starts thinking they are a magician and will magically make the players competent. I saw the same things said under Conte, Jose, Ange and now Frank. That just not how it works, if we want to play top football we need top players.

100%. They got Eze, we got Xavi. One is ready to go and just won them the game, the other isn’t and didn’t.

Tells you everything.
