Horrible this. Can’t speak for anyone else but this type of game plan just doesn’t sit well with me. This could be a long afternoon

How do you beat a far superior opponent is the question, what approach gives the best chance?

Any attempt to go toe to toe with them would see us blown out of the water in my opinion.

Arsenal are top of the league from playing a variant of this

The biggest issue with it is if we go one down, it’s such a big readjustment to then suddenly push all the way up the field and actually create chances.

Currently if one of the forward players get the ball, chances are they’ve got 60 yards to goal and no back up. Sort of game where you concede after about 40mins, try and adjust then concede another around 60-70 and just huff and puff till the end. I get why Franks doing it, but we have to score first for it to work really.

When we build from the back we seem to be lacking midfield option to pass too, we end up hitting a lot of speculative passes sort of into no mans land and hope someone picks it up.

danso isnt have a great game
If we can manage to keep them out long into 2nd half, maybe we can sucker punch them.....but thats a long if

Odobert is kinda spare, would be better with another CM imo.

Not that he's doing anything wrong.

Its like people don't remember the last 3 games against Arsenal with a more attacking manager. We got nothing out of those games either and the last one looked like this except we didn't really have a defensive structure in mind.

Yeah very much so.

The thing is with better attacking players and sitting a bit higher up the pitch it's a great foundation to build off.

Like Neville said, we aren't here to make it easy for Arsenal

it’s interesting that we’ve gone a bit different to when we were away to City.

I think City have a lot more weaknesses that are easily expolitable. Their high line is constantly breached they just usually manage to put teams to bed early or outscore them.

I don't know what Arsenal's weaknesses really are, probably around being able to turn games around when they go behind, but because of the set up they rarely do.
