He replaced someone who wasn’t deemed good enough to play his preferred position - but is now playing another position (left forward) instead of the 2 players we signed for that position.

Don’t forget the replacing of Harry Kane by a striker who had one good PL season at Bournemouth, and Son being replaced by Tel.
