Honestly I’d forgotten how not a penalty it was. I thought it had hit his arm further down, but that it was not a penalty as firstly, Mane had played for it, and secondly, it was clear that Sissoko wasn’t trying to prevent play.
Looking at this to see it was more armpit ball than handball indeed tinkles me off. It’s an awful decision on all counts and whilst we still may have lost anyway, it shouldn’t have been in this way, and not in the first minute of the Final.
Sadly we didn’t do enough in the remaining time of the Final to overturn the unfair deficit. We couldn’t even score so yes, the Final would have been different if the penalty wasn’t awarded. But we don’t know that we would have won.
So let’s see that we can reach those moments, that we have since won a European Final. And let’s believe that if we have been there once then we can return. Yes, not next season but in future, maybe 3 years, maybe 5 years, maybe longer, but it CAN happen. And for now I hope the path gets smoother, we have a strong finish to the season and let’s see what happens from there.

I can tell you what is worse than the CL final.
If we get relegated and we can prove that PGMOL was the difference between staying up and going down. They clearly can be based on what we've seen this season from Webb's lot.

They are sort of mutually exclusive in my mind. You rarely find single root causes in football. The officiating adds into the mix unfortunately for us this season. All we've done is sent a letter to the PL. We should have gone in a lot harder on Webb's lot.
