He will have loads of options, staying Como being a prime one. No way we sign him unless we are selling Maddison this window.

They are trying to do something with price with a buy back. It might not happen but there are quite a few options, Inter are seriously linked. Not on Comos model to pay £50M and £150k pw for a player.
would love him. we can bin off Xavi when he comes back, he looked weak in the PL. Its time the club is ruthlessLooks like Real M will buy him back for pennies, then sell him to whoever has deepest pockets

Xavi will come good under De Zerbi. He's already show he can perform. Now with stability he'll develop more consistency, and we will play to his strengths moving the ball quickly and opening space for him.
De Zerbi may not want a tippy tappy ten.Challenge is we won't know that until the end of the season.
As it is, we are going into a season with Maddison who hasn't played 90 minutes in over a year, Xavi who we likely won't see in first half of season, and Deki as somewhere inbetween.
It's a huge risk to not go for an alternative, and yes that may mean a hard decision about one of them in January or at end of season

He might play one of several formations that don't need precisely that.
Fair enough, but point still holds
- Maddison, Deki, Xavi are all unknowns for #10 role in terms of fitness/availability/form going into this season
Who else do we have to play #10? Gallagher?

Could Kudus perhaps play there? I know that creates another issue on the right but he looks like the type that can.

When is Xavi due back? Maddison isn’t a bad option though. So long as Xavi and or Kulu make it back sooner rather than later. Maddison is good in shorter spells. He’s also a bit light weight and I feel at his best when playing a run of circa 10 games. After that he seems to fall off maybe. Kulu is or was the most robust, really hope he makes it back!![]()
