He is the sort of superb, proven, manager that we would be going all out for if we were an ambitious club. We'd perhaps pair him with their old sporting director as well if we were a REALLY ambitious club.

But Emery was rubbish in London and we are a London team :)

PS Emery was also manager at The Woolwich when the then record signing of Pepe was made , he was about as good as N'dombele.

O’Keefe saying we have made contact with Alonso, but Xavi is now the favorite to take over according to the bookies.

I’m guessing we’ll end up with Amorim or something.

As long as we get it done soon. And no I don’t want Amorim. Three wins in fourteen league matches is beyond unacceptable. Frank should have been sacked a long time ago.

Surely Alonso is nailed on for Liverpool in the summer.
Where would this leave Slot? Still a very good coach (and a potential recruit for us?) or a charlatan who was lucky to win the league with Klopp’s team? I’d go with the former. This isn’t the first time Liverpool have followed up a title win with a poor season.

If the squad is as good as some people think and we are so underperforming then you'd think we could have our pick of managers to replace Frank - seems a good opportunity to come in make an instant improvement, take the plaudits and then kick on next season.

If nothing else, it would be interesting to see medias reaction if Slot were to be linked with us again.
When we were in for him last time, the general consensus seemed to be that he was "not proven", not good enough, and from an inferior league. When Liverpool went for him, he was the bees knees, best thing since gravy, and Nobel Peace Prize material.
So I guess he will be back to a failure. One can argue that they were right the first time, but still.. Consistency is not the sportsmedias fortè.
:)

Charlatan, guy took a team that won the league and added 450M of players and they are significantly worse. He also does the "what the fudge are you talking about" interviews like Frank.

I do agree that Slot is a good manager. Not easy to integrate a bunch of new attacking players at once, regardless of price. But if Alonso is still available in the summer I can see both club and fans wanting to switch.

Well if we are picking a new manager from a list of Slot, Alonso, Xavi, Nagelsmann, Tuchel, Enrique types, I am chill and perfectly happy to try anyone like that.
