Luka Vuskovic

I haven't really been impressed with vuskovic and gvardiol. I don't think they are owning the middle at all. A few times Vuskovic went for a short pass instead of pushing the ball into the channels to start an attack.

I don't think he is ready for this pace football

I agree.
He has the tools but needs another couple of seasons, preferrably in the Prem on loan. Amazing to think that managers might know more than YouTube LOL...

Thought he was poor for Bellinghams goal, ran away from the ball to cover the run, but it opened up the space for Bellingham to head into. Naivety more than anything.
Kind of reminds me of our 4 internationals who between them have been utter cack for most of last season. Are we going to call them naive? I only ask because they have made numerous naive decisions o er the year.

all rumours

Seems comfortable on the ball and physically not many will beat him
decision making - he was confident that his compatriot covered bellingham and he knew there was a free attacker behind him. 50/50 i would say. Good thing is that all young persons would have just gone into a foot race, but you can see that vuskovic relies on his overall awareness.

to me he does look slow in acceleration and turning and that will be the biggest question for the EPL and i would like the entire team to have above average physicality and speed to be competitive.

that said, it wasn't a well organized croatian defence and modric can't screen anymore, so Vus was in a really difficult space.

It's like I said in the handful of games I've watched him - he's a very talented player, but he's nowhere near the full ticket yet.

The claims of he's our best CB and whatever is utter nonsense, especially considering the naff all live game time most have seen of him....

That's the point though, they've been doing it in the PL which is a way faster pace and intensity than international football or Bundesliga.

VDV bossed it in the Bundesliga, Romero would look amazing in Germany - different thing playing here. Him going on loan to a PL team is best for where he is at....

I think the key thing is that he was playing in a back 3, as I believe he did at Hamburg. I know we've speculated that RDZ might want to do that but I think it's doubtful if we're looking to sign wingers. I'd need to be convinced that Vuskovic is capable of playing well in a back 4 before I'd be happy to give him a major role in our defence. If he's not prepared to do that then perhaps it's best he moves on.

One game on international stage against one of the msot talented sides in the world. He looked decent enough
Absolutely. He looked confident, but far from dominant - but like Tel he seems like a player with self belief and great attitude, plus the great talent. I thought his inexperience shone through at times, and adapting to the pace of the PL will take time. A PL loan seems the best option for me.

On another note, his body language/movement reminded me a bit of Romero. He looked slightly nonchalant and uninterested-ish in the way he moved around.

Tough crowd, I thought he did alright, didn’t look out of place on that stage vs that opposition. Not sure what people were expecting from him?

I suspect there is an element of people wanting to be right and say "I told you so"

But what people have been arguing for, or at least I have, is that the lad is 19, been absolutely step perfect on the path the club chose for him and likely wants a plan moving forward, personally I would like to see one that doesn't include a sale which defies the process I have already seen.

Last night was one game in what will be a long career, its not going to define him

Haven't seen anyone say he didn't do ok - But he made mistakes, which you absolutely expect of someone at his age and can tell he still has a lot to learn. People have seen next to nothing of him and decided he must be the answer to our issues at CB, when it is clear he has a a good bit of development to do before getting to that point.

There was a comment a day or two ago about how RDZ would be mad to sign van Hecke when we have him, as if RDZ doesn't know what and who is required for his system. Some just need to slow down and let him develop, there's going to be some bumps along the way. For an 18 year old, a loan to a decent PL team would be fantastic for him and us right now....
