Luka Vuskovic

Danso was playing in Ligue1 before he came to Spurs, a lower league than Bundesliga, and he was not bossing it. Our competition to sign him was Wolves.

I like Danso. No issue with him starting games for us. But to suggest Vuskovic wont get game time in 26/27 season because of him is absolute madness.

Come on mate, I have all the hope in the world for Vuskovic but lets be clear

- Danso had played in PL previously
- The pace and physicality of the PL needs adjusting to
- Vuskovic's one weakness is he doesn't have raw pace (so he can't use that to bail himself out)
- Simply better teams/players that he would have to go against

If the season started tomorrow and we sold Romero, Danso would start, could Vuskovic replace him over time? sure, but the risk is we buy Sensei and we go out the cup games early and there isn't enough time to bring him up to speed or enough games we can risk him in.

Spurs #1 priority next season will be a good start, a good first 10 games, it won't be the time/place to bed in a 19 year old CB.

The issue is not game time but a solid 35 game season... which with our lack of European games, will not happen

Plus I would rather he escapes next season's anticipated squad restructuring and comes in after hopefully a stable season under De Zerbi.

He starts for us.

He starts for us.

For me it all depends what you wanna see from the team and what, in theory, you would do, which is what forums are for. I would have him back and start him at RCB and have a plan to say "well this is what we are looking to build for the next 3/4 years and it starts now" and look to build a blend of current and the future. Thats not to say he is going to be guaranteed to be better than X in his position next year per say but will this side be better in 5 years with his integration now and we build with a plan and go piece by piece. Given everything we have done over the years I would be all for that and take a couple of years building. It isn't like we are going to be challenging for the title next season anyway, so you can actually look at a bigger plan IMO

From what I was told (take as you will) it was touch and go last summer if he was going to be staying here the season just gone.

We are one of the best attacking set piece teams in the Legaue. We are one of the worst defendending set piece teams in the league. We’re adding a top 5 player, not for his age, but all together, at winning headers attacking and defending. It’s a no brainer.

I dont disagree, I think, as I say, if you take moving forward with a bigger picture of building a side, there is a huge argument to integrate him next season

that's a whole philosophy question, and arguably would include Vuskovic, Gray and Bergvall.

I'm not sure it works that way, Vuskovic (like any 19 year old) needs to be protected, he could get a bad run of games and utterly destroy him at this level (unlikely, but needs to be measured against), also we can't carry passengers next season, the club needs to get out the gates in the first 10 games that clearly puts down a marker and reestablishes us a top 6-8 side.

Hopefully this is an intelligent conversation with him and his agents/family
- We believe in you for the long run, no question, we are willing to back that up with contracts (he's already been offered new ones)
- Choice is 40+ guaranteed games on loan somewhere, comeback at 20, take your shot, or take your shot now and know, you may be in/out of side, no guaranteed games and if you aren't established by end of season, we may need to loan again.

GB keeps mentioning it, but if his club/association status is actually lost if we loan again, that would be reason alone to keep him in.

I'm not sure it works that way,

Yep, thats what I said, its a project/philosophy, it can work but takes entire buy in, including the fans, our fans don't have the bottle for it though, so its a non starter

I would not be against a brave new world go of things, but I know its highly unlikely also

You’d have Yamal out on loan if he played for us.

Desire Doue was Man of the Match today. He was also likely the Man of the Match in last season’s UCL Final. He’s only 20. So some of you would have wanted PSG to have loaned him out. 🤣🤣

Vuskovic is that level but as a defender. We don’t loan him out. He will be starting for us by the end of next season. He’s that good.

Now I admit I am a bit of a sucker for “give the kids a go” when it may not always be the right path (for us or them), but for want of a better phrase, he really does seem like a defender version of Yamal. I really think we could give him a go next season.
