Plays as an attacking midfielder, has played wide and as forward.

Been highly rated for a while (does well for England as well), was really unfortunate last season to get injured at the height of the first team's injuries otherwise I suspect we would have seen some of him.

Really hope we figure out a way to integrate him soon
 
There are players - and they aren't many - who you watch first time and immediately think "he's a cut above the rest".... Ledley was that; so was Judas, Dele, and Kane once he was starting games... this kid, for me, falls into that category. You can see his excellent footballing brain is always switched on during a game and he then complements that with his exquisite footwork.

He looks big and quick too, which perhaps gives him an advantage over Moore

Perhaps but LWB has a much better build for PL football than Edwards.

From the bits I’ve seen of both of them in youth football I think that LWB has better awareness, passing and ball striking than Edwards did as well as significant physical advantages.

What Edwards had was elite ball control and dribbling ability and great balance to go with it. All aspects that LWB scores highly on as well to be fair to him.

Don't disagree but always worry about unnecessary labels and expectations at such a young age.

Plus he doesn't switch off when he's not got the ball. I saw a lot of Edward's as a kid and never saw him chase back and tackle, in the few preseason games I've seen Williams-Barnett do it more than 2 seasons of Edward's.

I'm always all-in on our managers even when I had reservations with their appointments. I want to see our managers being positive about our players even if it is bs, that's what media presentation are about. All the things that matter should be inside the club and team.
Why people bother even watching is beyond me, no manager with any sense is going to talk about tactics, team selection details or that he doesn't rate this player or the board.

Crikey, Edwards will be 28 at the end of this year. He's not had a terrible career, but I was thinking there was still time for him to blossom, but clearly it is now unlikely to happen. He's at Burnley, possibly using Odobert's old kit-peg.

As observed elsewhere, Edwards's career serves as a reminder not to get too ahead of ourselves with LWB's potential.
