The discussion in the Bundesliga thread about it being a "farmers league" got me thinking about a great post-season idea to settle that debate....
From each of the top 5 leagues, the teams that come in each of the positions 1-20, play a mini-tournament. So 6th place from England, France, Germany, Spain and Italy etc etc
I know this already happens with the various European club competitions, but that only compares the top 5-6 teams and most people accuse a league of being "Mickey Mouse" because of the weakness of the bottom half of their respective leagues which then undermines the winners achievement when it's claimed that the bottom 5/6 teams would struggle in League One in England etc
So, let's do it, let's see how Nottingham Forest compare to Freiburg, Monza, Toulouse, Villareal - what do you think???
