Jan Paul van Hecke

Cautious welcome! For me, I would want Danso to be part of our back line. He is such a solid defender and we need that in the back line. Can’t have 4 ballers at the back who don’t do the basics of defending otherwise we will continue to leak goals.
I think there's a bit of an assumption based on the fact that he's very good with the ball that he can't defend. Brighton conceded the third least goals in the league last season, so I'm pretty confident he can defend just fine....

Verbruggen and Van Hecke were great in the Fantasy Football stats.

It’s about partnerships. Goals conceded or not are rarely because of one player. At Brighton he has Lewis Dunk doing the water carrier role. We need partnerships that complement each other. We saw that when Romero was injured and Danso replaced him alongside VDV. Neither Van Hecke nor VDV are not good in the air for example.

Of course it's not about one player but they wouldn't concede the third least goals if he couldn't defend, PL teams would completely expose that especially when just playing two CBs.

You're right about partnerships for sure, but I don't agree that he doesn't/can't do the basics of defending from the games I saw him in. Danso is my favourite defender so I hope he has a role to play....

Everything is always so negative. They moan that Spurs don’t spend the money and when they do they moan they have spent too much. If he has a good season everyone will forget about the price tag
Exactly, imagine we signed Tonali for £100m, we would have signed Tonali, PVH, Robertson & Senesi for £152m, incredible price for 4 proven quality PL players who will prove the starting eleven straight away

I think it's silly, no player is worth anything intrinsically. They actually only worth what a buying team is willing to pay and the selling team willing to accept. Anything else is just an arbitrary valuation

Actually if you ignore the click bait headline and hear the interview it's pretty spot on and balanced. He says that there are risks dragging it to the end of the window and we wanted the player and were not willing to run those risks for penny pinching. Which Levy always did and we lost countless players as a result...
