Jack Rodwell

Maltese Falcon

Niko Kranjcar
Emirates Marketing Project midfielder Jack Rodwell only made five Premier League appearances last season. The 23-year-old, who has three years left to run on his current contract, appears to be surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium. Despite Rodwell’s lack of recent game time, 12 clubs are interested in signing the three-time England international for £10.5m, according to The Sun. Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Sunderland, Stoke City, Southampton, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, Inter Milan, Valencia and Villarreal are all said to be keen.

Looks like a load of the usual summer BS but would he bring anything that our current central midfielders do not possess?

He's been in the wilderness for 2 years?? I can't even remember what he was like before then.

It's not exactly a position we need to address, but for £10.5m he would definitely be worth a shot. Potentially a bargain for a club needing that type of player.

A bit like a poor man's Sandro. But he's gone a bit down the Michael Johnson route.

England could actually really do with a player like him to play alongside Henderson. But I don't think he's good enough for us, and we definitely don't want injury prone players.
