iTunes help please

Whenever I try and put a song that's an mp3 from my computer into iTunes it says the song does not seem to be a valid podcast url when it's not a podcast. I don't use any other programs and I've done it this way many times but recently it has started doing this.

And yes, I have turned it off and on again.

Are you sure it's a valid mp3, can you open the file in quicktime or another media player? Where did the mp3 file come from?

But have you tried turning it on and off again?

Serious advice: Don't use iTunes. Or anything Apple related.

I used youtube converter to get it and it works on windows media player.
