Isle of Man TT - Electric bikes

RobOlly

Gerry McMahon
As a Manx-man I always follow the TT Races.

This year Michael Rutter won the SES Zero TT (Electric Bikes) race with an average speed of 109.68 mph (over 37 miles), and a top speed of over 145 mph.

Not bad when the the Supersport TT / 600cc winner (Michael Dunlop), averaged 126mph !

The future is coming.

thats incredible, what do they sound like though?

been out for the TT a few times, great fun, always enjoyed the classics the most, did the course on my mountain bike one year, took me all fudging day

They make almost no sound. Which is eerie.

They're certainly no MV Augusta but 145 mph is really quick, especially with bugger all run-off, just good old Manx stone walls, telephone boxes, trees, etc.

Tomorrow is the Classic/Senior race. 1000cc's F1.

If the weather is good expect a new race record near 133 mph = 214 km/h average over 6 laps / 226 miles!!! Topping out at + 190mph

Watch out for Bruce Anstey, John McGuinness and Michael Dunlop... should be a great race.

And yes Michael Dunlop is brother of William, son of Robert and nephew of Joey 'the ledgend' Dunlop, OBE - (38 TT wins between them)

Whoosh!
