Is Gascoigne Going To Have a Crack? The Spurs nostalgia PODCAST

Always enjoy listening to Julie’s views on Spurs. But Comparing David Howells to Mousa Dembele may be the worst Spurs take I’ve ever heard.
As if that wasn’t jaw dropping enough, mentioning him in the same breath as Rodri was a head scratcher. I liked Howells but he was in no way, shape or form anything like Rodri stylistically or in terms of ability.

I thought Winks or Skipp were the logical answers.

For anyone who is a 40something and hasn't checked this out yet, I implore you do so for your own good. Gareth is a top guy and the interviews with the likes of Francis, Dozzell and Turner have been a real highlight.

Also probably* the only opportunity you'll get to hear Erik Thortsvedt do an impersonation of Princess Di

*if not I'd love to know the circumstances

Thanks all for continuing to listen and the really nice feedback!

The interview with Pleat was a fantastic episode. Thought he came across as very knowlegdeable about the game then and now, he was very honest about things that happened and his own failings and had a remarkable ability to recall details from a long, long time ago.

Fascinating guy. Sometimes we write off people like Pleat as dinosaurs but their knowledge and intelligence is a real eye opener. Great interview.

As you are doing 00/01 that makes it 11 seasons. How about a bonus Spurs XI from that period but you can only pick one player from each season ?

In fairness I took her answer as being which modern player performed the same sort of role that Howells did as opposed to who was he as good as.
