Interim manager thread 2.0

Brilliant!
To think, this started as a reply to the wafted rumours of a player being promoted!
Look, I think with the right coach he could work for 7 games. He has badges, he has knowledge, he is well respected in the dressing room and he will know every single player inside out and how to get them motivated.
At this point, it is the 'least' gamble of the ludicrous gambles left IMO
Pair him with Bellamy?

Honestly, as much as I didn’t like Bellamy as a player, his record as Wales manager has reportedly been very good. Plus he knows the PL and Ben can give him all the squad knowledge necessary.

Compared to Dyche, Bellamy/Davies get my vote all day long.

Id much rather Davies and/or Mason, than Dyche or De Zerbi

We need spirits lifting and a bit of unscrambling tactically. I think they could do that.

We don't have the players for Dyche's low block. And if we appoint a rape enabler, I'd genuinely hope we go down

He chose to play Greenwood - that's enough for me
If Greenwood had not been convicted of a crime, and he improved the team, surely that was the RIGHT thing to do?
Not playing someone who has been accused of a crime is hardly fair. You are innocent until proven guilty.

Everyone heard the evidence. His rape victim was paid off to drop the charges. There's no innocence

Not when there is publicly available evidence of him committing said crime.

The prospect of appointing Davies is batbrick crazy. The money at stake here, in real terms and paper terms, and the reputational risk and we’re thinking of giving to a guy who I don’t think even has the badges to enable him to coach a Premier League team…lunacy.

Davies seems a good guy and may make a good coach. fudge, he may also be capable of pulling us out of this but as a risk, it’s fudging massive.

That said, I’ve no idea who the best candidate is at this point.

The complaint was that Igor had never managed in the Premier league, had no experience of a relegation battle and didn’t understand the club. Now people are saying ‘never employed as a manager’ Ben Davies would be a good option, based simply on the notion that he ‘gets’ these players.

How?

Pay Poch's release fee then. That's the only alternative that guarantees success.

Otherwise no one else makes any more sense than Davies

I'm no fan of the head decision makers but they stand to lose millions and are fortunate enough to have one final Hail Mary attempt not to do so and they are going to conclude Ben fudging Davies is the guy to bet on?

Absolutely no chance IMO.....

Is that true though? What is it 7 games left now?

And outside of Poch (who I’m not utterly convinced works) there isn’t a single manager who would make more sense than a guy who has never been a manager?

Do you remember how close was to getting sacked until Harry Kane scored a jammy free kick and hope much he was under pressure 10 games in at Chelsea. His system takes time to implement.
