I think the players need the carrot not the stick now. Confidence will be at an all time low currently.

We are also now seeing the rotten fruits of last season's antipathy towards Premier League games. The players have got used to losing, especially at home. So Postecoglou has to take some responsibility for that.
I've missed four home league games this season, 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. I'm starving!

My suggestion before Igor arrived.
At this (and that) point, you need someone that knows the league, other teams players, other teams tactics, and of course, our own players (faults and attributes).
No time for learning on the job.
Ange takes this another step by being in tune on how day to day stuff at THFC operates, probably knows 80% of the staff, knows the routines.
The players already have a positive history with him. No relationship building necessary
Instantly able to focus and get on with the main job, straight out the gate.
Totally agree, no chance of it happening though.
Saw him asked the question about coming back pre Tudor and he completely laughed it off. There is no upside to him coming back for him personally and why on earth would he want to when sacked after actually winning something? Don't believe money would persuade him either...

Ok so I think some of you are angling for someone with recent experience in the league , and who is available right now? Someone who is thought of as a decent man. Perhaps someone who has worked with some or even most of our players? Someone whose CV shows beyond doubt that he has managed a team with a good defensive record? Someone who really looks in depth at our opponents strengths and how to counter them? Hmmn, I wonder, is there anyone we can think of?
Yes they should. We were going further and further down under Frank, the players weren't buying him and that is a guaranteed disaster.
Just because Tudor has been extremely poor isn't evidence to anything other than it was yet another dumb appointment for this particular scenario.
Hopefully they come up with a better solution for what is their final Hail Mary shot this season, but I wouldn't bet on it....
I've heard his tactics are very strong down the right wing.
