Igor the Interim

I mean, that could ONLY be Ben Davies, right??? Otherwise it's lunacy. I actually think if Davies would take it on, alongside a coach of his choice that'd be a sound action.
The new Ryan Mason.
He is very smart - it might actually be better than most of the names being talked about.
And Kulu can join his staff.

Well I’m assuming you’ve got zero experience of managing a PL team and have never won any silverware?

In which case you’ll be just what Vinai and Lange are looking for!
Hmmmm, I did win the PL with Swansea and EL with Watford on Football Manager.....
.... and took Gateshead from National Lge Sth to PL winners in ten years.

Didn't Slot and/or Ten Hag have an interview with us?

Not sure I agree with @Mikey10's statement though. The manager can be a problem, but there are plenty of quality managers out there who'd be happy to join us IF we had a clear direction as a club.

We offer a lot of money which in itself is already a very strong incentive. Unfortunately:
- Conte's rant, while totally justified, portrayed the club in a very poor light
- The club is having of tough time of stepping out Pochettino's shadow (the interim appointment if proof of that, I think)
- We have zero direction/identity as a club
- Power structure inside the club appears to be... unclear at best
- Up until this season, managers were expected to deliver Champions League qualification and/or a trophy (turned out a trophy wasn't enough, you might say) which is completely unsustainable in this league, with our level of spending/wage structure
- When you sack Mourinho and Conte who - rightly or wrongly are huge names in world football - in quick succession, you can forgive others for thinking twice before taking their chances
- Our squad is nothing to write home about

Turns out, when you mismanage the squad for a decade and kick off a power struggle within the club, you end up at the wrong end of the league table. Who would have thought? It's reached a point where I'm not sure a quality manager would make a difference in the long run. We need to sort ourselves out.

On Ten Hag I remember it being one of Levy’s better decisions of the last 7-8 years, in that he judged him to be completely lacking in charisma and that the club needed a leader that everyone could rally around. And if that’s true I think he got it spot on.

The really annoying thing about relegation is the fact that I do think a competent manager - eg Poch - could come in with this base of a squad and set us on the right path again. We shouldn’t be this far from it. But relegation is going to set us back a minimum of three years.

But yes, taking away the ludicrous expectations while not spending the most on wages, and just back someone to instill an identity, and a culture, even though bad times. And understand that that’s the thing Tottenham need as long as we don’t have the most money. We absolutely need the identity, it has to be non negotiable. A competent manager can do that for us.

It is mad that we’ve sacked good managers for being in a way better position than we find ourselves now. It just shows that actually it can always be worse. And that maybe sticking with someone through hard times will have some clear pay offs down the line.

I don't think expecting to be in the European places for the 5th-6th highest spend on wages is a ludicrous expectation

I would be happy with Davies. Who knows what kind of manager he’ll make but he’s the one connection we still have to our best team in decades. And I think that’s important.
